Various skills can be employed to help create a strong and durable collaborative culture to enable the group to work cohesively. To begin with, through interpersonal skills, I will partner with the teachers to empower and involve them in every step of the plan to increase the literacy scores. A healthy relationship must be built with the team by developing the vision with them as partners, as opposed to developing it for them (Morel, 2014). From the onset, the team will be given time and opportunity to diagnose the problems independently but within the larger group. This will lead to a universal understanding of the issues and consequently, a shared vision of how the group could achieve the desired success rate in the exam. The partnership will also extend to a redesign of decision-making power.
I will employ my problem-solving skills to ensure the teachers have the power to effect decisions. Therefore, the school will leverage the expertise of the existing teachers to design and lead the plan to achieve the desired success rate instead of relying on input from outside. The advantage is that the plan will focus on practice problems most relevant to the teachers. When teachers design and lead, they will simultaneously deepen their expertise and establish themselves as a resource for each other (Marel et al., 2015). Lastly, I will engage leadership skills to support the teachers by providing a way forward.

I will provide leadership by charting long term goals for the action plans based on the feedback from the teachers. I will lead the teachers into understanding why the desired change is necessary. Finally, I will come up with definite and concise plans on how to address any undesirable consequences that may arise due to the changes that would have to be made. For instance, if there are going to be any additional resources, I will make plans to provide for those, as well as alleviate any extra work that could put a strain on the team.
