Tran, the project manager, faces a couple of issues in setting the goals of the project. Secondly, Tran was not sure of how to maintain high team morale when the Alpha phases kept on falling dealing with the motivation of the team members a heavy blow. Tran can improve the development and performance of Ajax in a few ways. The team is obviously disappointed in the process thus far. Reorganizing the schedule of the project should be the first step that Tran takes to rejuvenate the project. While the team is obviously working quite hard to stay on schedule, setbacks may happen. Tran should understand this and reorganize the schedule to make it more flexible to setbacks. Establishing a second timeline in case the first one brings setbacks can improve the performance of the team. Nonetheless, Tran can demonstrate respect as a way of team building exercise. This would be effective in raising back the spirit of the project members.

Also, Tran should be proactive in assessing risks in the project. After figuring out the risks in the project, the success of the project should definitely follow. Any recurrent problems will be solved using a competent risk plan that has been developed. Apparently, the team will be on a high morale as problem solving is in line with the risk plan that acts as an incentive. Tran should be persistent in making the conflicting groups believe that there is a chance for the success of the project through project feasibility.

3. As the Ajax project team moves from its current state of development into the next, what are the likely sources of conflict Tran should prepare to deal with?

As Ajax project moves into the project execution phase, Tran must be ready to prepare from conflicts emanating from the team members. The actual realization of the project will face a lot of shortcomings related to controversies from the team members. First, misunderstandings among the project members will be evident especially between the hardware and electrical engineers. Some of the key individuals in the Ajax team are likely to leave the project for some reasons at this stage of execution. Tran should harmonize all the team members to set aside their personal differences and work towards a common goal.

Next, it is likely that Tran will face conflicts due to project costs and budgets. In executing the project, some of the sectors are likely to get more financial and technological supply than others. As a result, the sectors receiving peanut shares may consider themselves to be out of favor fueling conflicts with Tran and other project teams. Tran should engage in cost control when executing the distribution of capital and the Alpha technology to minimize these conflicts.
