Esrever is a drama and thriller written and directed by Adam Geddes. The characters in the film in question include Rik Aby, Firas Al Shakarchi, and Elsa Pottier playing the roles of Rellik, Cris, and Sarah, respectively. The other characters include a paramedic who confirms Rellik's friend's death by saying that he was no longer breathing and is acted by Emad Salam and Namtih performed by Eric Kocourek (Geddes, 2020) . The film is particularly captivating with the director's simple plot, the good characters, great choice of theme, and a fascinating ending. The film displays Rellik in shock, confusion, and fear after finding his friend dead. Rellik's friend appears to have committed suicide; however, the reason behind this decision is unknown to any person.

The pain of losing a close friend compels Rellik to start backtracking to find any clues that could explain the reason behind his friend's suicide. The film showcases the two friends having a chat over a drink and talking about their plans before the day of his death. Furthermore, Rellik further goes through the old memories between him and Sarah, who seemingly got physically abused. The movie characters in question showcase a high level of skills and mastery of their roles (Geddes, 2020) . For instance, Sarah is completely broken by Rellik's friend's death and insists on seeing his corpse against his wish of Rellik. The film ends in a fascinating dilemma leaving the viewer with mixed feelings. These aspects of the film make it one of the most thrilling short movies released in 2019, which is why it is an award-winning thriller.
