Part one
The author's central message is that current children's book doesn't give children proper direction; the book's emphasis on diversity. Christopher Myer is the author of the article. He had vast experience in this field and had published other books in this area hence makes this article very credible. He pleads for authors to give children a correct real-life map in their books.
Part 2
The data support the author's idea. In my opinion, the author will recommend this data since they justify that the gap between the books where the white children are used as protagonist versus those where other colors are used is too big to be harmonized. This means that authors should concentrate on massage of the book than diversity.

Part 3
The author's central claim is that the current books which are published for children of a young age don't give children the right direction which they deserve. They put more emphasis on diversity as demanded by the market. However, a much-needed map for the children lacks in search books. The author has used much evidence to prove this fact. First, His giver an example of a fifth-grade student at Southeast Washington DC who gave him a dream which was seemingly imposed to him but not actually what the student wished. He further proves that the books which are currently being published mirror the community. According to the author, these books need us to see the city in them; however, children are incapable of doing this. They are too young to look at the books in the angle which the authors intend. The author emphasizes that the children can only interpret a correct map of life when given in the books to help them have a good future in life. He further claims that currently, children lack direction and people may wonder why, he argues that the books which children use in school and read in daily life should help in giving them directions; unfortunately, the books no longer provide them with that direction. The author's purpose for writing this book is crystal clear. He wants the authors who publish books for the children of this age to give them direction as well as a sense of identity in this book to help in moulding them appropriately as they face this challenging world.
The data on the chart has information which is very critical. The message is that the books with the white as the main character sells high, is the most read and wins many awards. However, it is notable that the population of the white is also very high as compared to others. However, the data simply doesn't communicate any issue of diversity need. The evidence supports merely the author’s claim that the books should give direction and put more emphasis on them in the real world situations than struggling to achieve what may not be made. The gap between the books where white are used as primary characters verse others where other colors are used as characters is too big to be harmonized. On my perception, the author would be in agreements with this data. The rationale is that its data shows that the much-needed diversity may not be achieved any sooner. This, therefore, means that the struggle to make diversity, though important, may not count that much. The author can strengthen his claim by using this data. He can point to the number of the most read books and the one winning awards. These are the books where the whites have been used as the protagonists. For this reason, he can claim that what needs to be emphasized on such books is the message and direction for the kids and reality of the world, not the character used.
