Although the subject of evolution has been widely explored by researchers, commentators, and the general population, more insight is required in an attempt to broaden the applicability of evolution principles. According to Hendry and colleagues (2011), evolution principles are contemporarily incorporated into medicine and agriculture. Some of the application encompasses the derivation of chemical that are tailored to treat drug resistant pathogens as well as deal with the evolutionary resistance by weeds. The applications of evolution principles also encapsulate the genetic alteration of crop breeds designed to increase yield.

Although the idea of evolution was originally introduced by Charles Darwin, subsequent studies have contributed to the body of research by clarifying how evolutionary principles can be applied to solve looming real life issues. Currently, the principles are used in wildlife conservation efforts, such as protecting small and isolated populations from the stress associated with inbreeding depression. The researchers posit that although the benefits of evolution have been realized in almost all areas, the progression of evolutionary principles has been somewhat different. Hendry et al. (2011) assert that by understanding the evolution theories better, feasible solutions to most of the world’s problems can be developed and implemented. As an example, the researchers provide adaptive evolution as a tool that can be used to manage ecosystem functions. The impact of the approach is usually notable on more pronounced organism in a population. Ultimately, the vast applications of the evolutionary theory should be considered in a bid to solve current problems.

In conclusion, the principles of evolution have found more applications than Darwin himself could have fathomed when coining the theory. The applications can be attribute to the extrapolation of the concepts into feasible solutions that can be used to meet real life challenges. Ultimately, further research is needed to better understand evolution.
