In the current age and era, healthcare has experienced profound changes which have yielded tremendous positive outcomes, especially on how care is given by nurses and assimilated by patients. Inter-professional teams have been widely created to offer optimal care services in healthcare facilities. This development is aimed at offering better care services to patients through coordination, collaboration, and cooperation to ensure professionalism in delivering patient-centered care. The work setting in context is a hospital that incorporates the participation of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists to offer patients quality care. iCare components, which include compassion, advocacy, resilience, and evidence-based Practice, widely support inter-professional teams to enhance care for patients. One primarily team function that can be enhanced is communication. Thus, this paper will seek to explain the contribution of the nursing team in inter-professional collaboration from the perspective of iCare components.

Compassion

Compassion is identified and understood as the course of being empathetic towards patients in consideration of their health conditions. In essence, a nursing action that can effectively show compassion is showing emotional support towards patients by constantly checking on them and offering supportive emotional insights. When a nurse shows compassion, he or she becomes aware of the patients’ suffering and therefore can manage to develop the best care for their patient. It helps to prevent the withdrawal of nurses from the issues affecting patients and makes it possible for them to connect more with them. Holistic patient care encompasses the concept of effectively communicating to patients where, in this case, the idea of exhibiting compassionate traits is needed (Aagard, Papadopoulos & Biles, 2018) . This action will ensure that patients feel cared for on a higher slate, which, if connected to the output offered by other members, will improve the quality of care. Showing empathy will solidify the relationship between patients and the inter-professional team. If compassion is integrated as a culture, it will improve efficiency and quality of care as well as seek to meet the patients` needs better. Since empathy has a positive health effect, it will catalyze the healing process and enhance the overall health of patients. Patients will recognize that their care provider is aware of what is affecting them and will therefore trust them the more. Compassion makes holistic care possible for nurses and ensures that patients are not only cared but that they develop and maintain a healthy connection with their care giver. It contributes significantly to the patient’s healing process.

Advocacy

Articulately, advocacy explains the idea of supporting or highly taking into consideration the concerns of other people, and in this case, the patients. It is good to understand that inter-professional teams play distinct roles in a given healthcare setting. Since the main goal is to achieve optimal patient care, the nursing action that contributes to advocacy is nurses taking the initiative of being advocates for the patients and other members of the inter-professional team. This initiative should involve being the voices of the patients and ensuring that their needs are met effectively ( Vitale, Massaro & Fortunato, 2019) . Here, the main goal is to make sure that the concerns of patients regarding their care are met in the best ways possible, thus eliminating the possibility of neglect. Discussions tailored towards resources, information, and needs of patients are effective ways for advocacy. This move efficiently enhances abilities like reliability and responsibility in the nursing team. It ensures that inter-professional teams identify and advance positive policies that would make significant headway in quality care for patents. It will also ensure that these teams focus on recommendations that make it possible to work effectively in their organization while also exposing patients to care that will help them recover as expected. Advocacy ensures that professionals can identify legal issues that may affect their patients or their working environment and work in unison to ensure that appropriate recommendations and policies are developed to help address such issues. It can positively impact the health of patients as they receive the utmost care by ensuring that their needs are met. This is because advocacy contributes significantly to recommendations and policies that promote the best quality care for patients.

Resilience

Resilience from a nursing perspective is the ability to refocus and bring things back to normal after facing an unprecedented negative encounter. It also calls for an assessment of what needs to be done in the future to avoid such occurrences. One nursing action that can exhibit resilience is nurses offering support to other team members who face emotional strain when challenges emerge as well as foster solid relationships with them through effective communication (Yılmaz, 2017) . Most unpleasing outcomes in the hospital setup can emerge due to personally inclined triggers like stress. Therefore, nurses should seek to establish grounds of offering comfort and showing concern among other inter-professional team members. This move should extend towards being mindful of the members' feelings, offering support when negative issues arise and helping to build solutions on the same. Embarking on this culture can help the hospital to thrive under unity and healthy work relationships, which can aid in alienating numerous cases of adversities. Resilience also ensures that inter-professional teams offer support for one another even when their working environments seem difficult in some instances. Resilience from individual members of such teams would encourage the rest to continually offer patients quality health care without allowing negative issues in their working environments or workplace relationships interfere with how they deal with their patients. Thus, patients can receive the best care since such are underpinnings that hinder effective care and question competency. They will be under the care of professionals who ensure to maintain quality care giving even in instances when they are facing varied hardships in their working environments or outside their work. Therefore, patients can be assured of quality and holistic health care no matter the circumstances.

Evidence-Based Practice

Evidence-Based Practice is a nursing philosophy that incorporates the dependency on scientific evidence in the course of decision making. The reliance on evidence-based Practice in a hospital setup can help in making better decisions towards patient care. A nursing action that shows contribution towards these is asking clinical questions, compiling scientific evidence based on past encounters, and communicating findings regarding preferences in the health care field (Johansson et al. 2018) . The conduct of this Practice should be channeled towards ensuring that the best services in terms of medication and treatment are offered to patients. Helping the facility rely on evidence-based Practice can increase the rate of competency and increase the diverseness of means used to administer comprehensive care towards patients. Inter-professional teams have the power to improve quality and the personal experiences at work through maintaining evidence-based practice. It also ensures that the decisions they make are grounded in valid and reliable information to help subject patients to appropriate care. In essence, its application can ease tedious tasks of offering care, which means patients will experience efficiency in this area. It will contribute significantly to inter-professional teams making decisions that are at par with legal requirements and this will protect them from any legal consequences of malpractice. Patients can be assured that they will be exposed to treatment options and practices in care that have been tested and proven to be effective. Evidence-based practice will provide patients will the best strategies and they would therefore be assured of holistic healing.

Summary

The need to offer quality health services in the context of a healthy facility like a hospital deems it inevitable to incorporate the contribution of inter-professional teams. The use of iCare components can widely help nurses make solid contributions to the operations of inter-professional teams. Through compassion, nurses can embark on the action of being emphatic to patients by showing a sincere understanding of their health conditions and offering emotional support. This promotes care that is well tailored to also meet patients’ emotional needs and therefore assures them of holistic healing. On advocacy, nurses can act as the voices of patients, airing their concerns, and making sure that their needs are comprehensively met. It also ensures that inter-professional teams have a given course of action that will help promote policy and recommendations for better professional and patient experiences. Resilience will call upon a nursing action of expecting nurses to retain emotional intelligence and offering the same support to other inter-professional members, retain solid relationships in their circle, and contribute to formulating strategies that minimize adversities. It ensures that patients have their care givers present even when their working environments seem difficult. Through evidence-based practice, nurses can embark on looking for research evidence that can be used to make care delivery more efficient. Inter-professional teams can ensure that the care they offer is grounded in evidence and has previously been proven to work. It will ensure that patients receive services that are grounded in reliability and validity. One way of influencing this process for inter-professional teams is exhibiting the same traits in accomplishing a task as well as changing the angle of relationship with other members.
