The world has changed rapidly in the last few years due to technological advancements that enable instant communication and video conferencing from anywhere in the world; this technological transformation supports the shift to virtual organizations. Also, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has demonstrated that the traditional organizational structures may not be sustainable in the future.
A virtual organization presents numerous benefits to modern organizations. First, a company can hire the best in a certain field since one can work from any region. Second, a virtual organization enables workers to be healthier physically since they will have more space to exercise and will be able to eat healthy home-made meals instead of take outs. Consequently, the employees will be more productive and efficient. Third, a virtual organization has lower overhead costs since it does not have to own, rent, or lease physical property. Fourth, flexibility is enabled in a company, particularly in terms of working hours (Robbins, & Judge, 2014). Therefore, instead of a rigid daily schedule, an employee can work at the time that suits him/her, even if it is the weekends. Finally, employees can work for longer hours since there is no commute time (Robbins, & Judge, 2014). Aside from increasing productivity, it enables workers to save on commute costs.

Aside from these tangible benefits to the company, a virtual structure enables continuous training is through e-learning. Hereby, training is done through interactive programs that are accessed via the intranet, internet or computer program. Secondly, a manager can use classroom-based training as a constituent of a larger group program. The employees are guided by a facilitator through the content the firm deems critical for all new workers. Lastly, a manager can use video-based instruction. The videos can be customized to show the workers how the content they are learning can be used in the real work environment that where they will be given duties. Overall based on these core benefits, there is no doubt that a virtual structure is suited to modern organizations and the current business climate.
