Communication systems in an organization entails the various forms of passing information between managers and employees in the organization, or between the organization and outsiders. Communication plays a significant role in the daily operations of the organizations activities. Communication should be complete concise, clear, concrete, correct, considerate and courteous (Modaff et al, 2016). Thus it is important to consider the form of communication that is appropriate for delivering the message. The various forms of communication systems include media, technology and areas of application. They are made up of three components which include source, medium and destination. The source refers to the sender of the message while the destination is the recipient of the message sent. The medium is the channel that is used to transmit the message.

In media the two forms of communication used are written and oral forms. It is further classified into formal or informal categories depending on the sensitivity of the message. Written communication is the most common mode of communication in organizations and works across all levels from top to bottom and vice versa. It is one of the most effective means for conveying message while still maintaining professionalism and courtesy in workplaces. Oral communication is also used in workplace settings. The purpose of this form of communication is to pass information that is not particularly directed to one person. It is also used in meetings, presentations and interviews (Dwyer and Hopwood, 2019). Oral skills are very important in this form of communication.
