Sheldon abnormal behavior arises in a distinguished but significant number of times which comes in as a disorder. Generally, Sheldon is an arrogant character who requires that indicates the possibility of having a narcissist-personality disorder ( Millon et al, 2012) . Sheldon views people with a lower academic qualification are less intelligent. For instance, he regards Howard as less intelligent since he does not hold any doctorate degree qualification. Sheldon cannot control hos upset nature where small issues can raise it with a difficulty of cooling from a situation. For instance, there is a time he remained indoors locked until his mother traveled to convince him to cool. Such upset characters are common with individuals with a borderline-personality disorder who do not calm down easily once they are provoked. Sheldon anxious features can indicate the possibility of a cognitive disorder.

Sheldon also has an egocentric nature that makes it hard for him to trust other people. In this manner, he has a paranoid personality abnormality that makes him frustrated when others do not act in the way he would prefer ( Widiger, Livesley and Clark, 2009) . Hence, such characters will less think they are superior to others in thoughts and decision making. For instance, he belittles the winners bestowed in chancellor’s award in which he was not personally recognized. He is also a strict character to routine work and practices leaving him inflexible and rigid in nature and performance. Through his lifetime, Sheldon remained on a single food routine in addition to having a funny phobia of less interaction to women. As a result, he is considered to phobic to relationships. Moreover, he is less supportive of the fan such as parties owing to his upbringing.

Sheldon is dominant in friendship and any other kind of relationship. After meeting Amy on an internet-based dating site, he always regards credit to his decisions and views only. Gain, in the reflection of his stay with Leonard, Sheldon remained dominant and less responsible in the house they stay. For instance, Leonard handles most of the chores including helping Sheldon with personal effects. Unfortunately, Sheldon is unappreciative of the efforts done by his friend. Sheldon major issue on emotions is that he has no recognition of them; whether they occur to him or his friends.

Leonard Hofstadter

Leonard is a social character who has the lowest hardship in interaction with the characters outside their friendship bond. Interestingly, he has a great character of making the others sociable where he effectively mages to induce the trait in them. He considered a normal character as he is the least experienced individuals when others boost what they practically do in their areas of expertise. Unlike people like Howard who worked in a field of his academic qualification, Leonard lacks practicality experience. In this regard, he tends to views himself as inferior despite the high recognition he receives from the friends especially Sheldon. The arrogant and self-centered character of his own mothers boosts his ability to handle the pressure that may come from his friends ( Widiger, Livesley and Clark, 2009) . In this case, he is used to handling hard things thus he can tolerate his friends. He appears highly controlled by Sheldon.

It is possible to label him as the core pillar of the big band theory’s characters where he serves as a backbone to their unity. Despite the negative comments that come from his friends, he remains loyal to them. This keeps him less of conflict possibility with others thus effectively serves as a mediator between them despite their distinguished personalities. Interestingly, Leonard is an introvert in the way of thinking. Normally, the introvert thinkers have a way of using refined models in their minds and ability to explain working move of different things. Thus, such thinkers can evaluate any information they get and find ways to understand it despite its complexity. Interestingly, Leonard finds solutions for every logical issue.

Leonard shows some level of extraverted intuition after accessing the outside world data. In this case, he seems nervous with no surety of how things are out there ( Pilard, 2018) . He tries to assume any praise that shows he is a geek. Moreover, Leonard has some level of selfishness. Interestingly, his wife penny sees him as a geek though their relationship is marred with complications. Thus, Léonard is a humble, natural, talented yet less interest in praises of his success and downplays it.

Howard Wolowitz

Howard Wolowitz is the most interesting male character especially with social abilities in comparison to the other three scientists. Howard is a successful man at the age of 30 years. He spends most of his life with his friends. His social character allows him to bond well with Sheldon, Raj and, Leonard. He works as an aerospace engineer with great contribution to bodies like NASA. In this case, he was involved in its space expeditions. Despite holding a master’s degree with no higher qualifications, Howard becomes a lead astronaut especially in launching into space.

He is generally an open and sociable person. This is revealed from how he engages with his friends and other characters in the film. For instance, Wolowitz makes suggestions on having sociable activities to his friends. Despite his sociability, he has an openness personal trait ( Reisz, Boudreauxb and Ozer, 2013). I t allows him to allow new ideas making him achieve things by trying out new ways. As a result, Howard takes advantage of new opportunities that come around with the hope of associated. His sociable character allows him to easily engage with anybody else. He easily falls in love with women but leads to trouble. He uses humor and a great level of socialization to keep them on his side. Howards applies the conceptual approaches in his conversations with women making it possible to impress them. It is right to label him as a sex-crazed character in the way he lured women to his side.

He is married to Bernadette after getting into a serious relationship with her. Interestingly, he keeps belittling other relationship especially that of Leonard to Penny. Despite the character of Sheldon belittling others, he admits that Howard is the funniest character in their group. Howard has an energetic and passionate character even though there are times when his ideas are insignificant due to impracticability. Funny enough, Howard freaks out after realizing his wife was pregnant again and would expect another kid in his family. Moreover, he has an intuitive-ethical introvert character ( Suvorova, 2013) . In this case, an individual cares more on reflection rather than the action done. Fortunately, he is influential and transformative especially after dating his wife.

Penny Hofstadter

Penny is a less educated character who among the main character is not a scientist like the four men. However, she is visionary such that she aims to be a Hollywood actress in the future. Interestingly, despite the lack of educational qualifications, penny utilized her good communication abilities. This makes her somewhat an equal partner in the team. She is less intelligent and odd when compared to the other main characters. In this case, she takes advantage of her looks to succeed in her daily activities especially in selling drugs as a pharmaceutical representative.

Penny has a great understanding character in spite of her lacking any formal education. However, she has many weaknesses that make the film hilarious around her characters. First, she services her vehicle in an irregular manner. Moreover, she is a poor driver of the same. It is possible to make her an opposite comparison of Sheldon in the consideration of sociability and intellectual capability. Although Sheldon has higher abilities to think in her comparison, penny holds no dislike towards him. Generally, she has a histrionic personality disorder that makes her lose self-worth ( Widiger, Livesley and Clark, 2009) . As a result, penny relies on the views of others as well as their approval. Although she is married to a more intelligent character, she still remained to live with undesirable standards and behaviors such as ignorance of hygiene, appearance, and job.

Again, she is a social character with an outgoing nature. The film presents her as a romantic character in a relationship with Leonard. She gets into a self-denial situation due to her relationship with other men in the past; she regards herself as a slut. As a result, Penny has low self-confidence in her ways of life. With Leonard going to space, penny revel her helpless character.

Rajesh Koothrappali

Raj undergoes a selective-mutism social anxiety disorder that limits him to talk in some cases. The problem affects the speech where one may go into silence e or mute situation ( Johnson and Wintgens, 2017) . As a result, raj remains unsociable especially to women unlike characters like Howard. He also has an ethical-sensory introvert character which leaves him quiet even when his speech is okay. With time, he realizes that he can interact with ladies only when he is drunk and takes advantage of it. Rajesh remains hypocritical in consideration of the Indian racial based jokes.

Generally, with social anxiety disorder, a person fears being judged by others when they speak or have a feeling of being reacted and misjudged ( Widiger, Livesley and Clark, 2009) . Thus, Raj has muscle tensions when he wants to make important comments and interact with others. Funny enough he falls in love with a former Howard’s girlfriend. He also has low confidence in public. This is portrayed during an interview session where he majorly discusses his weaknesses in details. However, even though he suffers from anxiety disorders, it’s recordable that he had relationship s with Claire, Emily, Lucy, and Ruchi. This shows that he has a strong desire for women limited by his character.

Conclusion

Big Band theory is an interesting series with personalities who portrays different characters in the show. Their fictional, emotions, personalities and abnormal behaviors make glues the viewers to the show. Therefore, it fits in as an as psychological show where it portrays various actions of characters emanating from their thinking. Additionally, it shows their stereotypes clearly. Leonard Hofstadter is a social interacting guy. Sheldon is presented as a smart scientist who believes he is the best compared to others in all aspects. Raj has a selective mutism nature with low socialization abilities. Howard Wolowitz is another scientist though he is characterized as fond of women. He has a good psychological power that allows him to lure women before having issues with them. Penny is a nonscientist who has good looks with a hilarious character. Sheldon is a creative and selfish character who only regards hos thoughts highly. Interestingly despite their different characters, there are still aspects that bring them together. In this case, Leonard serves as the core pillar of the relationship between the four main male characters.
