The Books of Genesis and Proverbs are two Books of the Bible that covers the freedom that man is given by God to make own choices. At the beginning of creation, God created the earth and gave man authority over all creatures on earth. During that time, Adam and Eve did not have knowledge of evil and good. God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden where they were asked to feed on all the trees in the garden except one that was located in the middle of the garden ( Nelson, 2016) . It this sense, God was giving Adam and Eve the choice to obey him. They, however, chose to ignore the commands of God and ate from the tree in the middle of the garden. That resulted in damage to the relationship that God has established with a man . This shows us that from the beginning God gave the humankind freedom to make choices. Choices howEver have consequences and what befell Adam and Eve was a result of making a choice to disobey God .
The Book of Proverbs also speaks about making the right choices. The Bible is clear about how humankind should make decisions. Listening to advice is the key issue that is covered in the Book of Proverbs . The Bible tells us that those that do not listen to the wise are making their paths crooked. It also teaches that to have knowledge of the lord is the way to make the right choices. In this regard then, the Bible teaches that we should let the voice of God be the guiding tool when making choices. This is because every choice has a repercussion and it is only through the Holy Spirit that God can guide the humankind to make the best decisions ( Nelson, 2016) . God did not want Adam and Eve to have the knowledge of the good and evil because that would strain and damage the relationship that God has with the humankind. However, the devil in the form of a snake lied to them that the tree in the middle was a source of knowledge and that God did not want them to eat because they would be like Him.

The Bible talks so much about prophecy and how they are the vessel of God. There are however false prophets that have risen claiming to predict the future. True prophets of God do not work in that model of predicting what will happen in the future but rather they have the power to activate or plead with God to spare the people from His wrath. Prophet Jeremiah is an example of the prophet that pleaded with God so that He can spare the people of Israel. God asked him to tell the people to change their crooked ways lest they face the wrath of the lord. We see from this case that prophet Jeremiah was in a position to activate the curse that would befall the people of Israel if they did not change. Nehemiah is also an example of the prophet of the lord that pleaded with God not to destroy humankind. Jonah also was a prophet that was sent by the lord to preach to the people of Nineveh about God’s plan to destroy them unless they change. Jonah knew that if he asked the people to change, the wrath of God would not harm them (Bible, 2013). He was however angry with the people of Nineveh, and he wanted them to be destroyed, and that’s why he tried to escape from the journey. All these examples show that prophets have the power to intervene in God’s wrath.

Peter is significant in the Bible for betraying Jesus. He also shows the compassion of Jesus and forgiveness.

John the beloved is well known in the Bible for being among the trusted disciples of Jesus Christ. He is also known for writing the five Books of the Bible.
John the Baptist is well known for preparing the way for the lord. He is also known for baptizing Jesus Christ.
Isaiah is significant for being the author of the Book of Isaiah and for prophesying the coming of Jesus Christ.
Daniel is remembered for having strong faith in God and being persecuted for preaching the word of God.
Pharisees are significant in teaching the humankind about boasting and challenging the words of God. They were boastful and behaved as if they knew everything about the laws of God.
Nicodemus is significant for being among those that questioned the acts of Jesus Christ. He was an official in the Sanhedrin.
Luke is significant for being a close friend of Apostle Paul. He was also the author of the Book of Luke and Acts.
Mary Magdalene is remembered for washing the feet of Jesus and possession of demons.
Herod is remembered for the plot he had against killing Jesus Christ. He felt he was a threat to his reign.
Balaam is significant for being firm about the works of God.
Nehemiah is significant for his involvement in the second building of the walls of Jerusalem.
Miriam is well remembered for her involvement in the exodus of Israelites from Egypt.
Cyrus is well known for ending the Babylonian captivity.

The Bible teaches about the ways of the wise and those of the fools in the Book of Proverbs. The Bible asks the fathers to teach their sons the correct path of wisdom. It also teaches that the ways of the wise bring joy to the lord while those of the foolish and the wicked anger God (Bible, 2013). The Bible acknowledges that the Holy Spirit was given by God so as to guide humankind in the ways of the lord. Covenants made by God that would bring blessings in some cases fail. The covenant made by the Israelites and God in Mt. Sinai was broken by the Israelites and curses came their way.

Creation of Adam and Eve is the first account of the creation of the humankind. God puts Adam and Eve in charge of all creation. They chose to disobey God, and that broke the relationship God had with humankind. God, however, restores humanity out of love and compassion. The end of the Bible talks about the creation of the New Jerusalem (Bible, 2013). The way to the new salvation is through guidance by the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is used in the Bible as a way to salvation. The Bible emphasizes the theme of the restoration of the kingdom of God .
