There are significant physical, biological, cognitive, and stress levels’ differences of midlife and later life adults (Ready, Carvalho & Weinberger, 2008). From a biological point of view, changes in the body of older people are directly related to the aging of tissues and cells (Ready, Carvalho & Weinberger, 2008). Over the years, enzyme activity decreases, protein biosynthesis, the composition of bone tissue, muscles, blood vessels, and others change (Lachman, Teshale & Agrigoroaei, 2014). In comparison with people of midlife adult age, elderly individuals experience the end of the body development and the start of aging. The immunity of middle-aged people is much stronger compared to older people. In later life adults, there is a change in appearance, reduced physical capabilities, performance, and changes in the psyche. In the aftermath, age-related changes in the cardiovascular system also appear which severely limit the adaptive abilities of the organism.
Stress has an adverse effect on brain functions. Middle-aged people more easily perceive any overloads as well as easily tolerate such changes as blood pressure drops, pulse rate and other physiological reactions associated with neuropsychiatric stress. Stress in people of midlife adult age often leaves no consequences on their health in comparison with the negative effect of stress, which is usually left on people of older age. After some physiological changes, later life adults may undergo acute or chronic diseases including myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, cerebral circulation pathology, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and many other serious illnesses.

In my future career and life, this knowledge about the described differences will help me build communication correctly basing on the behavior of midlife adults and later life adults. Since emotional states and cognitive functions significantly differ in people of various ages, the approach to communicating with them should be different. For example, older people are mostly more defenseless and sensitive, so communication with them should be more delicate and caring. As a result, when dealing with older people, I have to be very tactful and do not stress them, as it can negatively affect their physical and mental health.
