It is evident that technology is constantly improving its application as well as the way in which people communicate across the globe in recent times. Various works have been done to help in the transformation of technological advancements such as the creation of robots, the aspect of technological singularity, and virtual reality. The movies “moon; Robot and Frank”, “Her Ex Machina”, and “eXistenZ; 13th Floor” followed some organized pattern just like any comprehensive story. When analyzing the three movies I used a pattern that would allow me to look in detail the characters, events and interaction, setting, time, theme, and organization of the movies. In this regards, the two main themes at play in all the movies I went through was the aspect of technology and media. The three movies were centered on the modern civilization where technology controls all daily human experience.

Notably, “eXistenZ; 13th Floor” showcases how human beings can interact with virtually created beings the same way the contemporary society interact with virtual games.
The impact that media technology is having on society as a whole is undeniable. The overall integration of these technologies particularly on the social setting such as households has become a major influence on individuals. In this light, media technologies have been a huge revelation in my life where I have had to interact with my friends and families through online platforms such as Emails and sometimes play online video games with my peers. This has given me a new sense of how technology can bring people closer to each other across the globe. Additionally, technology advancement has made a couple of changes in the educational discourse with the invention of gadgets such as mobile phones and laptops. This has made my work easier especially in accessing library education materials instead of going physically to the library thus saving a lot of my time. Some examples applications that I have personally interacted with in my educational career include the Coursera and Duolingo which is basically a language learning app.
Primarily, my housing and lifestyle have also been affected by the modern tech in recent times. Majority of the items I use at home are automated which, therefore, makes my life easier, safer as well as organized. Due to technology advancement, our homes are secure as security cameras are installed on every corner of the compound. Additionally, thanks to technological innovations, I spend my leisure time playing games on the Xbox units as well as watching movies from our smart TVs at home.

Personally, I think modern technology has had its bad influence on people especially when they are over depended upon. This has contributed to my low level of class attendance. I, therefore, intend to change this habit and visit our school library occasionally. This has proven a health risk thus I will reduce the time I spend with my laptop and instead do more exercise. I as well use online platforms such as Facebook in a couple of hours on a daily basis something that I fear can encourage invasion of my privacy. I, therefore, plan to reduce the number of online communication platforms I use.
