The work of art that created the greatest impression on me during the course is The Dance made by Henri Matisse.

The painting was made in 1910 for Serger Shchukin, who was a wealthy businessman in Moscow, Russia (McBreen, Burnham, & Barnet, 2017). It reflects the idea of dance, which led to the indication of the power of dance. The decorative panel is made using oil on canvas and measures 102.25 inches by 125.25 inches (McBreen, Burnham, & Barnet, 2017). It is displayed in Hermitage in St. Peters. As indicated by Matisse, the painting originated from the observation of a group of men and women dancing. Their arrangement in the circle is in such a way that it indicates a stylized traditional circle dance. The painting was also made in such a way as to reflect the joy and energy that is achieved through dance.
