Prosocial behaviors can be defined as the voluntary acts that are intended to benefit or help another group or individual while the antisocial behaviors are the voluntary actions that aim to disadvantage or harm another group or individuals (Baumeister & Bushman 2014). The Bystander Effect - People Watch Girl Being Abducted video shows both the prosocial and antisocial behaviors. The prosocial behaviors are events when the three young men try to help the young girl who is being kidnaped. These acts show that they are willing to help the girl to safety.

On the other hand, the antisocial behaviors in the video Effect - People Watch Girl Being Abducted are evident when the woman and the man walk just by the girl who is being kidnaped and they are not willing to help her. Furthermore, another woman state that the reason she does not help Deborah is that she thinks that someone else would take the blame and the responsibility. Furthermore, Bill Stanton shows anti-social behaviors by trying to kidnap as the act is aimed at harming Deborah. Primarily, this brings out the disgusting behavior of the community who are not willing to help each other (Baumeister & Bushman 2014).

On the other video Bottle Bank Arcade, prosocial behaviors are evident when over 100 people use the Bottle Bank. Importantly, the antisocial behaviors are seen when the nearby conventional bottle bank was only used twice for the same period. The system justification theory correctly explains how people defends their pro and antisocial behaviors. Media play a crucial role in promoting prosocial behavior through their advertisements. Through their television shows and advertisement, they articulate some of the actions that they think people should improve on and the activities they should engage in.

Response: Reshea Catherine

Reshea Catherine begins her essay by defining the prosocial behavior which is a good strategy as it enables the readers to be aware of the concept that will be communicated. Moreover, the author does a great job by identifying the prosocial behaviors in the video. One prosocial behavior theory that explains why the woman went over to help him was because of empathy. When another is in distress, then the person relates to that feeling (by feeling the other person pain), and it makes one want to help another just as the young lady did in the video. However, in the same video, she fails to identify the antisocial behaviors by other individuals who just pass the person in pain. Importantly, in the next video, she can determine the antisocial behavior indicating that she clearly is able of distinguishing between both antisocial and prosocial behaviors.

Response: Crystal Olen-Fay

In his essay Crystal Olen-Fay

The ideas in the article are well structured indicating the author’s knowledge of the topic she is talking about. This gives the audience an easy time in getting the ideas of the author. The author apparently, understands and capture the concept of prosocial and antisocial in the essay. Importantly, the puts out the activities of the prosocial and antisocial behaviors clearly and adequately. For instance, This group can be seen all over social media with their recruiting ads calling for individuals to fight “Anti-fascism, fascist ideologies” and dare I say “Nazis.” This particular refers to themselves as Antifa. Consequently, one being the presence of anti-social behavior, meaning anger, violence, aggression as well as breaking the law to benefit themselves or their beliefs.
