In successful teams, each member contributes their equal share in the execution of tasks and responsibilities
Team members in successful teams provide support for each other and from the organization
Successful teams embrace diversity in the composition of its members because each individual is unique based on their backgrounds
Successful teams enjoy the company of each other and have fun in their working. Fun makes the team vibrant and breaks any potential burnout.
Successful teams impact members since they learn values like trust, commitment in decision making accountability and generation of ideas to increase productivity.
Features of unsuccessful Team
In unsuccessful team, members are highly excessive and aggressive
Members in this team could not complete tasks as they concentrated on making impression instead
Splintering in communication is evident in this team
Unsuccessful team does not have clear objectives, resource allocation and fail to plan
In the unsuccessful team, members can fail to be culturally and socially sensitive to others’ contributions
In this team, arguments were rife without any concrete decisions
It follows that the features that had the most effect on the team’s success was strong leadership, embracing of diversity, team support, and practicing of values like trust and commitment and effective communication. Conversely, team’s failure was characterized by ineffective communication, poor leadership and lack of clear objectives.
