The ecologism and environmental policies document has called for change in the entire world. The document uses several researches to illustrate the different policies and their intention towards reducing the continuous rapid consumption that has drastically depreciated the natural resources towards a catastrophic end (Festenstein & Kenny, 2005). It is evident that humans have no sense of reducing their consumption and depreciating the natural resources as they aim to raise their standards of living. They continue misusing the resources with the belief that they are obligated to do so but they fail to recognize that they are digging up their graves. The article on Buddha economics campaigns for individuals to take the initiative to cease others from doing evil and advocating for them to try and do well. The Buddha economics urges people to recognize that the resources are limited everywhere hence it is the time for people to satisfy their wants in the most modesty way possible.

The policy criticizes the notion that is followed by most of the people in the world today in the description of living as a Western man. It characterizes the western man as extravagant and who does not give any thought of the natural resources as he aims to consume in the highest level possible without acknowledging the damages he causes to the environment (Festenstein & Kenny, 2005). The western man tends to be blind on the fact that he is dependent on the environment.

The analysis that illustrate that the world is heading to a catastrophic nature calls for the changes of human race in adopting better consumption strategies. It calls for the world’s population to adopt policies that are ecological and economically stable to ensure that the resources available are able to sustain us in the future. I concur with the article’s call for the modern economics to halt evaluating everything on price but they should analyze all the consequences of consumption and belief on high living standards (Festenstein & Kenny, 2005). The document leads to asking two main questions:

Is it time for change or are we doomed to extinction?

Is the world population ready to embrace change to stop the catastrophe ahead?
