Military service is a service offered by an individual or group in either an army or any other military service, either as a job or Conscription. Mostly, countries that use mandatory military conscript men. However, very few have conscript women. Compulsory military service is justifiable since some prefer it and also some who do not. As a result, this paper presents several arguments on the benefits of mandatory military service.

To begin with, mandatory service can be used as a tool to bring unity in a state. When the youths train together, they share military experiences and understand military life, what the military does, and how a country can be protected. This, in turn, leads to the military's appreciation, thus supporting them in protecting the country through reporting any threats to the state's security. It brings people together more so when facing cultural or political threats externally. Conscription is, therefore, a unifying factor.

Mandatory military Conscription will incapacitate crimes. Conscription will engage the youths and separate them from society when they are prone to criminal activities (Hjalmarsson & Lindquist, 2016). Most youths engage in criminal activities such as drug abuse due to a lack of adequate engagement. Most youths find themselves wandering in the country with no sufficient job qualifications. In their quest to earn a coin, they end up engaging in criminal activities. Mandatory Conscription will reduce these crimes.

Compulsory military service leads to personal development among youths. However, military service focuses on hard work, teamwork, and discipline (Braw, 2019). This will further lead to the country's development. Soldiering and training the youths is essential to the young men's development, thus crucial for the nation's future. This will mainly work since the training brings about social cohesion, giving the country a sense of community and teamwork and bringing about social advancements for the less privileged social classes. Youths are the future of the nation. Their personal development means the country's development.

Conscription enhances a sense of civic responsibility among the youth. The transition from youth to adulthood comes with responsibility. Conscription changes the youth's view on the interaction with other races and increases their self-confidence (Gillian, 2018). During the training, the youths are exposed to real-world issues, boosting their understanding of their world, especially when it comes to security and responsibility. A sense of civic responsibility will make the youths more patriotic, thus contributing to their well-being.

Conscription is useful in creating a country's strong defense force. By enlisting every citizen in the military, the country can protect itself fully. Conscription means that no one is spared from war. Therefore, the country will have adequately trained soldiers for the security of the country.

Military training will boost respect among women and men. Soldiers are trained on the importance of respecting other people's freedom and values. Also, people from different areas with distinct cultures come together during the training. Sharing of experiences among the trainees will lead to cultural appreciation and respect for one another.

Social classes will be eliminated through compulsory military service. Conscription is for everyone. Whether poor or rich, white or black. Social stratification will be eliminated through equal treatment. Besides, racism and class are some of the issues affecting the US at the moment. Research and news are all over about discrimination based on skin tone. Coded' slavery' still exists in the USA, with the Whites having privileges that downgrade the Blacks. Going through similar military experiences will bond people from different races, cultures, and socio-economic classes hence eliminating discrimination.

Countries need people to sacrifice for the interest of the public. It is undeniable that Conscription can be scary. People have questioned the issue of personal ethics, such as lack of free will and morality. However, everyone does several things for the public interest as opposed to personal interests. For instance, people pay taxes and participate in charity work for the benefit of the community. The compulsory military is one of these activities. Focusing on the societal good for 2-4 years will not harm. It may even equip one with the knowledge that will lead them to future success.

Conscription keeps the government on toes through making it more accountable. When there is Conscription, more households are concerned with the government's daily affairs. Friends and relatives of the draftees remain keen on the country's happenings to know their people's safety at any given time. They desire to know the security threats the country is facing and be ready to give a helping voice to counter the same. The government is made more accountable for the decisions they make concerning the military and the country's security.

By training as a militant, one subscribes to one of the most recognized world families. Being a veteran connects one to a special group of people found all over; thus, you have a family almost in all localities. Status is wealth that cannot be stolen from someone. The identification with fellow veterans can come with certain benefits like jobs and incentives like GI Bill. This can make a veteran's life much more comfortable. Status gained through Conscription is of personal importance.

Mandatory military training avails leadership opportunities to the draftee. Most of the youths given a chance will not choose military service. Surprisingly those who go through the service on returning to their career stand a better chance to get promoted compared to those who did not go through the training. By being involved in the service, one gains proven leadership skills. People will prefer hiring an individual with 2-3 years' experience in hiring a fresh graduate. Compulsory military training is, therefore, a preparation to face the world with various useful skills.

Generally, mandatory military training has many benefits to the country and the draftee. A country is safer, unity is boosted, and participation in defending the country can be achieved through military training.
