This paper will discuss teaching healthy lifestyle in the life of children. There are various reasons that drove me into choosing this topic, The major one being my belief that Instilling a healthy lifestyle in the life of children while they are young can go a long way in helping them build the right framework for their entire lifetime and form healthy habits. I also believe that in the importance of instilling some behaviors in a child while young since it is the right time to start teaching children while they are still young and teachable ( Loughrey, 2012).  I also chose this topic due to the importance healthy lifestyle has in the life of the children. It is a key player in healthy growth and development. This topic has also been influenced by a belief that growing up is creating the right habits that will be the backbone of the children throughout their lifetime. Right information will shape those children as they mature up. This paper seeks to look at an effective way to convince a child to choose a healthy lifestyle

Here are effective ways of influencing children into living a healthy lifestyle.

The first step is being the role model, parents and guardian should possess positive behavior that can be emulated by the children. Children learn a lot through observing and whenever they observe negative or positive behavior they will try to imitate. Therefore, it is of great importance to present good behavior that one want child to emulate S(onna, 2005).

Food is one area that needs to be sensitized when one wants to have a healthy lifestyle. It has been found that there are lots of obese children who are victims of don't-care-attitude parents. Children should be taught the importance of eating good food. Parents should not only forbid foods they think are unhealthy but should ensure they tell children importance and benefits of eating certain foods, they should also be informed why a certain food is wrong. This can be done using books and illustrative pictures.

Ensuring children participate in physical activities as much as they can is another way of making the live a healthy lifestyle ( Smith, et al. 2014).  They should be informed of the importance of physical activities which will help them explore new skills and gain self-confidence and cognitive skills.

The third way is teaching children responsibility; children need to be responsible as it forms the building block for their future success. Children should be given responsibilities that will give them a sense of ownership and in the process; they will learn to choose good from bad. They should be involved in choosing food and physical activities they are supposed to engage ( Maizes & Weil 2013)

A healthy lifestyle is a recipe for growth and development, not only to the children but to any human being. it is important that as children at their tender age, get the right guidance that will help them live a healthy lifestyle. Children easily learn and adapt behavior from influence around them. They not only learn from the parent but also fellow children hence they can easily adapt behaviors which can either be positive or negative. It is therefore important to take the initiative of teaching and convincing them to choose a healthy life while they are still young. This should be done before they are influenced out there and get wrong information that might lead them to making wrong choices.
