Question 1

During the United States' formation, there were two different groups whose ideas helped shape the young nation. They were known as federalists and anti-federalists. The Federalists are those who worked hard to attain a stable national government and have the constitution formatted to help resolve the tension in America. The anti-federalist was known to be against the formation of the constitution and the government, and they advocated for power being retained at the local government. Hence, this section explains the major difference between these two.

There are several differences between the federalists and anti-federalists. The Federalists contributed to the formation of the U.S. Constitution, while the Anti-Federalists opposed the formation of the constitution until the inclusion of the bill of rights, such as the rights to free speech. The Federalism sought to find support against the constitution while the Anti-Federalist fought to ensure that it was formed (Gatica, 2019) . The f ederalist idea was to have the central bank control the financial policies as letting the different states manage their revenues would bring economic struggles that would affect the national revenues. The Anti-Federalists perceived that the states should be left to be managing its revenue as each state was free from government involvement.

In retrospect, I would be a Federalist because this group worked hard to protect the people's rights, and they support a government that does so. I believe that human rights should be respected, and every human should be treated equally. The Federalists believed in the centralization of the national government and the formation of the new constitution. If the government manages the finances, everybody will benefit from the use of the finances rather than when the finances are distributed in the states and let the different states manage the finances separately.

Question 2

The Electoral College is a body of officials responsible for the presidential election. It is created every four years during the presidential elections. The officials vote for the most popular presidential candidate in the election following the U.S. constitution and the federal laws.

The Electoral College should be abolished and let the people pick their president rather than have a group of people choose a president for the American people. This is because a president who is not popular to the citizen can be voted in by the Electoral College despite not being voted in by citizens. It is very demoralizing to the voters because some may feel that their favorite candidate could not be voted in by the Electoral College (Rathbone, 2018) . It is also a way of pushing the presidential candidates away from participating in the elections as the candidates will feel that their destiny lies in the hands of the Electoral College.

Each state is represented in the Electoral College by an individual elected by the parties. States with few populations have more representatives, two electors, because they need more political protection. This implies that unpopular candidates can be president simply because they got more votes from the Electoral College, forgetting that the state's size does not determine the political preferences (Chafetz, 2020).

Question 3

The United States has seen an increase in the inequality that comes in different forms. There are wealth inequality, political inequality, income inequality, and social inequality. Inequity in the United States has been increasing every year, causing tension in the country as people feel that some people are given better services and treatment than others. Inequity cannot reduce as everyday people are having new ideas to make themselves better than the others.

Income inequality had negative consequences on the United States' political stability and economic growth, so the government should ensure it is eliminated. It causes citizens to feel that they do not need to contribute to the country's growth as they will not be treated equally. The U.S. has a higher inequality rate than other democracies (Granrut, 2018) . This is because America has many unregulated markets where people do business without government involvement. The immigration rate of the less-skilled workers in the U.S. since 1965 has also contributed to the great inequality levels in the nation.

Inequity tends to destroy American democracy. The rich are seen to have more political powers and can dictate the lives of the poor. The rich can also get anything they want because they can afford it, oppressing the poor. The increased inequality caused the economy's instability as the poor will not be able to pay taxes but only the rich, who sometimes have ways of evading the tax payment. Hence, democracy is impacted by the rich, trying to evade tax payment.

Question 4

Political socialization is a type of political training that helps people gain attitudes and values that are important for one to be a good citizen. The agents of socialization include media, parents, and teachers. Sometimes, different socialization agents are known as ‘institutions’ that help shape people's political and economic values (Wasburn & Covert, 2017) . Parents are responsible for shaping their children's role in politics by the way they participate in political topics and agendas when around their children. Teachers play an important role in shaping political socialization by teaching children the importance of politics. The political education they give the children helps to shape their political opinions.

My family participation in politics has had a major impact on my political views. In my childhood, I saw my parents actively participate in politics as my father always vied for the senatorial position. Although he was never successful, we always had those discussions with the political parties and the changes that he would bring to the states if he got to the senate. Our dinner times were nothing if we did not ask questions about the differences he hoped to make. I was always excited, and when the elections came, I looked forward to seeing my father win even though I was not an eligible voter. My parents contributed to my choice of political parties as I tend to vote for the candidate who is in the most popular party.

Part 2

Wire services are private or government-owned companies that use an electrical communication system to supply the media with the news. They have several effects. For instance, they tend to affect the stories in the local newspaper as they can give the news that interests them and their profits

A story becomes newsworthy if it is current and significant. People love to hear of something new and current happenings. The number of people that are affected in the news makes it more newsworthy. An example is when a plane crashes and kills hundreds of people; it is more newsworthy than a thief who was caught stealing a chicken.

Equality: This means that all individuals are given equal opportunities before the law and the political process, and this helps to make up the American political culture . Capitalism: This is crucial as citizens are given the right to own property and compete in business without government involvement.

Democracy: These core beliefs make up the American political culture because the elected officials are accountable to the citizens responsible for choosing the official.

People have different opinions on the culture of the different places and living in the different parts of America and the political systems in their regions. Hence, this creates diversity.

A researcher may choose to use the open-ended question if they want to give the respondents a chance to include more information and better understand the subject. The respondent information gives the researcher a great chance to understand the respondent's feelings. Close-ended questions are better used when the respondent population is large.

Urbanization came with different effects in America. The political effect of urbanization was that there was an increase in corruption and swindling of money. This led to people taking advantage of their political for personal gains because there was a very high population of people in the cities.

Globalization came with its challenges to American workers and the American labor unions. It caused the lowering of wages for the workers. At the same time, it resulted in increased pressure on the labor unions as it brought about a demand of professionals and skilled laborers.

Most of the news media in the United States are privately owned. They have several implications. Among them is that they can be pursuing information that only interests them and their profits.

Media framing is the perspective used to tell the news story. The media framing of poverty affects the American attitude. This is because, at some point, it implies that it is caused by society and the government.

The polls with simple answers fail to measure them if they responded and have understood the questions or not. The pollster can avoid the problems that come with a simple question by asking open-ended questions. These questions require the respondents to answer them, depending on their understanding and knowledge.
