The feminist ideology that resonates with me is the liberal feminism. It contends that irresponsible male behaviors such as aggressiveness and competitiveness are harmful to society. For a better world, it emphasizes caring and cooperation. From the video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxt_MZKMdes ), Gay urges that men and women are equal and should be entitled to equal treatment in various segments in society. Liberal feminism has helped in achieving this. It is advocating for equal employment opportunities, equal salaries, respecting female values, and creating centers to cater for the welfare of women. Compared to cultural feminism, liberal feminism has been applauded for being effective.
The men’s movement that resonates with me and is consistent with my values and views on masculinity and femininity is the HeForShe group. This group has encouraged men to support women. From the video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cetg4gu0oQQ&t=927s ), Baldoni argues that men should be willing to sacrifice their masculinity and offer assistance to women. The Men’s Right Group is against my views and values on feminism by arguing that men being feminists will mean losing their power to women. The Women Liberation Movement supports my ideas by ascertaining that men should feel accountable for empowering women. Women World Fairs Group, however, contradicts my perceptions by suggesting that women should not depend on men to be empowered. Women should just learn from other successful women and not rely on men.

The historical, contemporary movement that has changed my perception of gender and feminism is the #Metoo movement. This movement has united people from all over the world to help in fighting for the rights of women who experience domestic violence. It made me understand gender inequality is a global problem that every individual is trying to fight against. When people unite, their voices are much heard, and their grievances will be addressed. It calls for all people regardless of religion, tribe, color, nationality, political status, and social class to stand up and advocate for equal rights of both genders
Reading chapters 3 and 4 has made me realize that are different views on how to identify women and their roles. Men should work with women for gender equality and be comfortable when expressing their feelings (Fixmer-Oraiz & Wood, 2019). Both genders should admit that they are struggling and need help from one another.
The next phase of gender movements should be centered on inclusivity, where every human being will be involved. All the critical issues that cause gender inequality must be addressed. Policies must be established to punish offenders who violate the rights of women. The effectiveness of those various gender movements should be realized within a certain period.
