Sports have gained recognition on the global scale, uniting different nations to conduct business and support their teams. Forces of globalization affect sports business, such as football, in different ways. Communication technology affects planning, advertising, and marketing of football, for instance, in matches such as FIFA World Football. Adverts using the internet and media are widely done, encouraging people to take part in the events by attending where the football matches will be held. The results of each game are communicated through the internet, and there are live feeds for what is happening, enabling people in different parts of the world to watch everything (Jarvie, 2013). Communication enables promote football business across the globe.

Transport is a global business force that determines the consumption of sports business. The 2018 FIFA World Cup was held in Russia and was attended by a total of 3,031,768 people (Gough, 2019). The number of people attending these football matches has changed over the years, support by the development of the transport system, mostly air transport in the world. People move from different parts of the globe through planes, which have increased in number, enabling regular people to afford plane tickets.

Trade affects the consumption of sports business. The regions which re more developed are likely to get more people during the FIFA World Cup, unlike the developing area. Comparing nations where football games have been held, the number of visitors varies with how developed the country is. United States had the highest number of visitors, 3,568,567 individuals in the 1994 FIFA World Cup (Gough, 2019). It was the largest number of people who ever attended the world cup, which is due to business development in America, enabling visitors to access any resources they needed, such as food, shelter, clean water, and other services.

Sports business, especially the FIFA World Cup, has become a culture where people are united despite their backgrounds. Globalization, therefore, affects the consumption and perception of sports business, like any other regular international commerce.
