Various professions entail the provision of services to members of the society in exchange for income as well as the fulfillment of one’s passion. Nevertheless, occasionally, various professionals engage themselves is charity work in the community that they work. The charity work is done mostly in line with the organizers’ line of professional. Up and above the offering of professional services to further one’s career, professionals participate in voluntary activities that ensure the welfare of the community that one operates. The contemporary upsurge in the number of heart-related ailments and deaths has motivated the initiation of a community action plan that will aid in the awareness of the risk factors and mobilize people to seek early check medical ups. The community action plan dabbed The Heart Run mainly involves a half marathon race to raise funds for heart patients in the local hospital as well as money for running the campaign for the next fiscal year. Potential partners of the community action plan include money donors, medical profession volunteers, privately owned and ran chemists and laboratories as well as various government agencies.

The vastness of heart-related diseases and complications calls for a pull of different professionals in the medical field to offer the much needed professional assistance in the Heart Run community action plan. Volunteers from Cardiologists, Cardiac Perfusionists, and Cardiovascular Technologists are expected. It is this need that we get our first two partners. The American Heart Association and the local district health facility.

1. The American Heart Association 

The AHA is the non-profit agency that is mandated with the nationwide provision of the appropriate cardiac care in a bid to curb the associating risk factors. In other terms, the AHA does all that the Heart Run intends to do, but on a national level. It is logic to involve them in the community action plan due to their vast knowledge, experience, and availability of professionals and perhaps funds that can further our course. The headquarters of the AHA is in the city of Dallas in the state of southern Texas. The website of the organization is heart.org

2. The local health facilities 

No one knows the real health situation on the ground than the local health centers. Participation of the health centers in the campaign will not only strengthen our support on the ground but will also increase the confidence of the locals in our action plan. Local health facilities will also benefit directly from the initiative as patients from our program will be referred to these establishments where the cardiac services will be offered at subsidized prices thanks to the Herat-Run initiative. The contacts of the various health facilities in the locality as well as the voluntary personnel will be provided by the respective facilities in reply to memos sent to all of them.

3. Centers for Disease Control 

The task of tackling the cardiac disease menace would be impossible without the provision of the necessary data on its spread both locally and nationwide. Information on various health conditions is readily provided by the CDC. The CDC is an agency that is solely tasked with the tracking of health trends nationally and investing the same. The first step in tackling a problem is knowing the extent to which the problem is spread. It for this reason that the CDC will come in handy in availing information on the trend in heart diseases, nationally and at the local level, to further our campaign. The CDC is based in Georgia State’s first city, Atlanta. The website for the CDC is cdc.gov (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, n.d.).

4. Various independent medical professionals 

Being a public health issue, the Heart Run will require medical professionals from all across the board. The support from all types medical professionals will depict the seriousness of the heart diseases issue to the public. Medical professions who specialize in heart problems will, nonetheless, be prioritized. The number of specialized medical professionals that will be required is five. The specific doctors, nurses and nurse practitioners that will participate are yet to be determined. An addition to the laid down benchmark number of specialized medics will be appreciated. The medical professions have to be certified to practice medicine in this state as stipulated by our constitution.

5. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 

The BMGF as it is commonly abbreviated is a multinational private organization that was founded by the wealthiest man in the world, Mr. Bill Gates, and his wife, Melinda Gates. The nonprofit organization mainly deals with the enhancement of healthcare and the alleviation of poverty. The fact that heart diseases have become one of the leading causes of death in the United States, and that we will fall under the scope of the BMGF, makes this an appropriate choice of donor. 6. Oprah Winfrey Foundation 

The foundation is similar to that of the Gates in most ways. As the name suggests, the Oprah Winfrey Foundation is the birth child of the legendary media personality and business mogul, the billionaire Oprah Winfrey. The charity work done by the Oprah Winfrey’s foundation goes beyond our national borders.

7. Local learning institutions 

The participation of students from the local learning institutions will be an ideal way to mobilize the masses as well as increase the scope of the people reached by the awareness program. A sizeable proportion the state’s population is made up of the youth, more precisely those attending schools and other learning institutions. It is also prudent to instill the knowledge of the causative factors of heart problems and the preventive measures to our population at a young age. The institutions will make this possible.

8. The local Catholic archdiocese 

The participation of the various churches that make up the Catholic archdiocese of this state will pull in more people to the initiative. The main objective of the initiative is to reach more people within this area. The church is a precise way of achieving this.

9. The state football champions 

Football is a popular sport and having our state champions participate in this initiative will not only help them in their welfare goals but help reach more people as residents gather to see their favorite athletes. Football clubs also double as potential money donors to further our course.

10. The state basketball champions 

The state champion basketball club serves the same role as that of the football club. The necessity of including the basketball club is to ensure that a larger proportion of sports fanatics is reached. Including more than one sport raises both the chances of attracting more people to the community action plan and raising the number of money donors. It also reduces the potential of having ambush marketers at our events.
