Discuss how these events (described in the Hebrew Bible) and the belief in being God’s chosen people differs from other religious traditions and the role plays in daily life.
The events in the old testament are based on God’s creation and the lives of the Jews. The Bible emphasizes that the Jews are God’s people and that he has a plan for them. All the Bible stories are meant to indicate God’s love for his people. The deliverance from Egypt aims at reminding the people that they are special and that God intended for them to be free from their enemies. The main difference between the old testament stories and the Hindu religion is that the Hindus believe in a supreme God who takes care of them. The Hindus have different gods for different aspects of their lives which is not the case with the Jews. The bible stories play a role in how Christians believing in the old testament stories especially in guiding them through the ten commandments. Hindus on the other hand are also guided by their doctrine and practice aspects of their religion in their day to day lives.

How can the main concepts presented in the religious text for this religion be applied in your life in a practical way?
Practically, the ten commandments are aimed at bringing in peace among people and allowing them to maintain a relationship with each other and with God. Through the ten commandments stipulated in the Hebrew bible, people understand how treat each other. The Hebrew bible makes a commandment of obedience to parents and loving one’s neighbors as we love ourselves. The teaching is a universally accepted moral as most religions and societal teachings teach how to best relate with each other. As such, applying the same in people’s day to day lives leads to decreased conflict.
What are your initial impressions and feelings about the architectural design of the Synagogue?
The architectural design of the synagogue was meant to be symbolic. Some of the religious elements contained in the synagogue include the ark which is used to keep the scrolls of the law, an external light kept before the alter and bimah where the scripture passages are read from ( Suchoff, 2017) . The architecture of the synagogue symbolizes God’s presence and created a space where people meant to worship. My initial impression is that of an organized system of worship that reminds people of God’s presence.
What religious message does the architecture of the Synagogue convey about Jewish beliefs? Be specific.
