Intelligence helps provide specialized information that enables the government to acquire the necessary information regarding national interests. The information provided provides the government with an edge to initiate a well-developed plan that can help it attain the intended objectives. The intelligence helps the government to ensure the security of the United States people against internal and external terrorism activities. Kulick (2009) asserts that developing security measures are important in ensuring people’s safety (p.110). The intelligence processes are dependent on humans and technology, but all the collections have a human print. The human intelligence step relies on humans and entails collecting evidence through interaction with humans. Open source intelligence also depends on humans and involves collecting information from various sources, such as television and radio, newspapers, among others. Geospatial intelligence is dependent on technology and involves combining imagery and geo-information to analyze and represent security-related activities (Director of National Intelligence, n.d.) . Imagery intelligence relies on technology to reproduce and represent objects by electronic means or by using light. Additionally, the measurement and signature intelligence process depend on technology to scientifically and technically analyze data to obtain qualitative and quantitative information.

I think that it would not be wise to remove humans from intelligence collection and analysis and to use computers. According to National American University (2021), human plays a vital role in gathering data and information from diverse sources and then evaluating the information to ensure its accuracy. Humans are vital in applying the collected information to determine any threat within a given community. Also, they help in anticipating and preventing any criminal activities within and outside the country. Additionally, they are important in gathering data and information from the law enforcement intelligence networks and databases. Equally important, humans are crucial in verifying and validating the data from various sources and ensure that the information is accurate for decision-making. Moreover, humans have the mental capabilities to learn, understand, a reason to manipulate an environment. Besides, humans can use their intelligence to develop a decision-making structure that can help gain information about the plans, abilities, and intentions of the criminals. They help in exploiting documents and analyzing exploration and surveillance practices to satisfy the needs concerning an enemy. Therefore, the ability of humans to collect, validate the accuracy of intelligence, and make decisions make them indispensable in intelligence gathering and analysis.
