Whistleblowing is a common element in the contemporary business setting as it allows employees to reveal the illegal activities in the organization. However, the process can be unlawful if the whistleblower fails to follow the set guidelines. Consider the company you currently work for (or one you have worked for in the past), what initiatives could you suggest to be more socially responsible? How would you propose such changes?

I would suggest the company invest more on philanthropic activities that will improve the image of the company. In particular, the company should provide education scholarships to less privileged members of the society, and further offer them internship and employment opportunities in the future. However, the company should create a fully functional department that deals with these philanthropic activities. Also, transparency and accountability must be the values that guide the division. Lastly, the selection process ought to depict fairness and equality in order to attain the vital goals of improving the company's reputation. Evidently, philanthropic practices have improved the well being of society while increasing the profitability of the company. Therefore, the approach will be effective for the company.

I consider a code of conduct as the most imperative practice as it equips employees with the skills and competencies needed in the day-to-day operation and interaction in the company. However, to entirely create this awareness, the organizations must invest in training of employees on the code of conduct and the impact it has on contemporary business setting.

As a student, the code of conduct is one the most essential value, and following the organization code of conduct to the latter is one of the approaches of practicing this value.
