Introduction
The right to vote has been a process, especially now that everyone above the age of eighteen years can vote. Before this allowance, the United States Constitution did not guarantee voting rights, and hence it was only the noble people who had access to vote. Noble People, in this case, were the white people who owned property. This therefore concludes that the election process, and the right to vote has been an issue to deal with over the years, until presently that it has been the right of everyone who is qualified to vote.

The positive impact that was brought with this democracy is that in the end, the voting rights act of 1965 was signed. This bill enabled everyone who was the age of eighteen years and above to vote, without considering their race, nor their status in the society. Before the signing of the bill, the people involved with the fighting for democracy, such as Schwerner and Goodman, died in the process for fighting for the law to be amended, so that presently, anybody who can vote can vote (Cashman, 1991).

The negative impact of the federal election
The federal elections had adverse impacts on the citizens. For instance, at the beginning of the voting system, it was only the white noble people who owned property were allowed to vote. With time, the rule started becoming racist, such that it was just the white individuals who would vote. These negative impacts are what brought about the blacks to fight for their freedom, because they were being excluded in the democracy process (Cashman, 1991).
The democracy system also brought about an order of gender biases. This is the case because, in the evolution of democracy, the women were not permitted to undertake in the voting process. This became clear until the nineteenth century, and the nineteenth amendment took place, and hence they were assured of a right to vote.

To enhance the positive impact of democracy, the voting rights should be included in the US constitution, and hence the law should guarantee the voting rights (Cashman, 1991).

The fact that people were not able to vote due to racism, gender biases and status in the society, then it should be made punishable and included in the constitution to perform such things that promote hate in the community (Cashman, 1991).

In a nutshell, the democratic system was once shuttered and had racism and biases in it, until the different parties affected decided they wanted change. The change was a process, but in the end, everyone was accommodated in the final result. Hence every individual involved benefit.
