According to the authors, there is the likelihood that the legalization of marijuana is likely to increase the number of new users. Additionally, there are possibilities in the increase of harm associated with cannabis users in the United States. This is important for the discussion in that there is a provision in the expected results for the legalization. Therefore, it can give an insight to stakeholders of what is expected to ensue.

The authors claim that the urge for the legalization of marijuana among different states in the USA is influenced by the population which values the recreational use of the drug. According to the article, there is a decrease in the disorders connected to marijuana consumption. This gives the impression that the use of marijuana should be looked at with more analysis while avoiding any prejudice.

This article reviews the implications of the use of marijuana among different demographics specifically among adolescents. It is learned through the study that the legalization of marijuana will result in an increase in the number of adolescents consuming the drug. This has an impact on this discussion as it will give the reasons as to why there is a need to apply the control mechanisms in the entire issue of legalization.

As noted from this article, there are lower cases of pediatric as linked to marijuana exposures in many states. However, it is reported that the number of people exposed to marijuana increased from the year 2005 to the year 2011. Importantly, there are increases in the incidences of exposure in states which had passed the marijuana legislation as compared to their counterparts who have not legalized the substance.
