The best practice selected revolves around encouraging independent problem solving for the learners as a way of ensuring that they are able to improve on their learning capabilities. By promoting effective capacities for the learners to solve problems, it becomes much easier for them to learn how to evaluate the problems that they encountering. That means that they would find it much easier in their bid to ensuring that they adopt personalized approaches allowing them to deal with specific problems. The ultimate outcome is that this paves the way for cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of the children as part of their engagement in the learning environment. As an intentional teacher, it is important to uphold ethical and early learning standards taking into account that this would determine what early childhood students are able to learn with regard to their environments. Epstein (2014) indicates that being an intention teacher encourages students towards intentional learning, which is a much better approach when compared to forced learning, which students are much more likely to reject. It is from this perspective that the idea of upholding ethical and early learning standards can be projected, as they seek to establish a clear front through which to promote definitive learning. For the students, this means that the intentional teacher seeks to give them a clear understanding of how they ought to engage as part of the learning process. To implement the best practice associated with encouraging independent problem solving for the learners, the main expectation is having a set of personalized problems that are defined for each of the students. The idea is having to ensure that the students understand that these are problems that they can be able to solve as part of enhancing their overall capacities towards effective problem solving. That creates the need for having to understand the different strengths and weaknesses associated with the students, as this will serve as one of the ways through which to ensure that problems selected are much more personalized to allow for an effective capacity through which to enhance learning. An example of an activity that would demonstrate this best practice is a brainstorm bonanza in which each of the students will be given a set of questions that reflect on their specific strengths. The expectation is having the students answer these questions in a manner that they think is accurate and effective. Generally, the idea of using this activity is to ensure that the students are able to not only focus on what they have learnt but also consider what they know about themselves. The bonanza may also include other activities such as painting where the students will be expected to color a picture using colors that correspond to each aspect of the picture. Being intentional with curriculum planning can advocate for all children’s development and learning taking into account that it seeks to create a front through which students are encourages towards the learning process. The idea is having to create a curriculum that the students would be able to connect with as part of their learning process while seeking to ensure that they understand the value associated with what they learn. The long-term effect that this is expected to have is that it will play a critical role towards ensuring that the children are able to achieve holistic development.
