The Sydney Opera House in a multi-venue performing arts center and one of the most famous buildings. The sculptural form of the building is dependent on the form of shells. Its form, particularly the form of its roof structure, can be likened to the surface of a sphere. Due to the opera house's expressionist style, the building is characterized by considerable space (Freeman, 2017). This creates a form of fluidity through which individuals can move from one section of the opera house to another. While the building's height is not extensive, the opera house makes up for it with its vast space. The Sydney Opera House has been structured to allow its users to gain an expansive view of the environment that surrounds them.
The Temple of Jerusalem was a building originally constructed for religious practices by members of the Jewish religion (Lecture notes). The sacrificial practices conducted in the temple are reflected in its architectural design, with the division of its platform into two separate courts; the inner-court and the outer-court. The outer-court was for non-Judean individuals while the inner-court was for Judean individuals. This also reflects how the temple is used today. The great scale of the temple is a reflection of the religious beliefs that the Jewish hold. The temple is structured in the form of a palace, which is in accordance with the belief that they worship a king ("Jerusalem at the Time of Jesus", 2020) .The proportion and balance of its elements also support and facilitates the worship and sacrificial practices that the Jewish were expected to conduct. The form of the building is a true reflection of its function. Its space and the division of its borders clearly stipulates the religious practices that were being conducted in the building. Through the use of a gold dome on the top of the mosque, the building exhibits a form of grandeur to its viewers.
