One of the literature findings on continuing competence shows that the best methods in MSMCB were that that was inclusive of CNE activities (Boyle, 2020). Moreover, techniques such as CME when content applies to nursing, ACLS, preceptorship and mentoring, academic courses all showed a high rate of maintaining continuing competence.

Moreover, respondents indicated that they were interested in using continuing methods of competency beyond those that MSNCB offered.

One strategy I would use to create a strong literature review or search for evidence would be to use appropriate resources like a strong bibliographical database (Wilkinson, 2013 ). It would help the nurses in getting the information that is relevant in the determination of continuing competence.
In addition to scholarly publishers, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and nursing associations can be valuable and reliable sources for the methods of continuing competency facilitation (Wilkinson, 2013 ). A careful literature review will provide a researcher, professional or student with reliable and valuable sources to base their research. Thus, without credible sources, an analysis may not be viewed as authentic.
