The continental coastal areas depict landforms either as a result of sediments or its geology. These landforms are clearly manifested in various shapes and sizes. Coastal landforms are formed through either deposition or erosion. Waves and currents play an important role in landforms formation as they act upon rocks and sediments available along the coastline. Waves carry sand from the ocean and deposit them on the beach as they move back and forth. Some of the erosional landforms associated with ocean tides include caves, sea cliffs, sea arches, wave-cut notches, and sea stacks ( Davis , 2014) . On the other hand, depositional landforms include beaches, lagoons, barrier spit, Tombolo, and Baymouth bar.

Sea level rise/ change have been observes in various coastal areas. Sea level change has on many occasions been associated with melting of glaciers. In some instances, sea level change can be associated with either isolatic of eustatic changes. Isolatic changes involve the change in the level of the land itself as a result of processes and will either raise or lower its level causing changes in the sea level ( Davis , 2014) . On the other hand, eustatic changes involve the rise in water level as a result of expansion occasioned by climatic factors.

Thermal expansion is often experienced in areas experiencing high temperatures. Thermal expansion of water involves an increase in volume of water as a result of heating. The water particles gain heat energy that consequently increases the kinetic energy of its molecules. The increase in volume is experienced as e result of increase in molecular space as the kinetic energy increase. Glaciers are predominantly found in the Arctic and Antarctic and it has been observed that its amount has drastically reduced. Some are however, found in other parts of the world as mountain glaciers. The melting of glaciers has been associated with the observed sea level rise in many parts of the world and the changes in the thermo haline circulation. Glacier melt has been equivocally agreed to be as a result of climate change.
