The article dwells on the roles of medical assistants in innovative primary care practices and the impacts of their actions.

The current workforce in the medical profession lacks proper abilities in enhancing people's skills and the training process. The authors describe the need for an application of the expertise in the healthcare centres by the medical assistants. Clinicians spend much time on other roles that medical assistants can correctly handle ( Chapman & Blash, 2016) . Medical assistants are the overall personnel in the healthcare professionals who must lead by example in every department to solve challenges that medical workers face, such as lack of perfect cohesion, wrong ways of handling dilemma, and welfare of the professionals. The authors apply the teamlet model to indicate the new roles of medical assistants. Pre-visit planning, post-coaching, and the follow- up activities are the proposed new roles for medical assistants that will improve the quality of care given to patients. Medical assistants are expected to work closely with clinicians to realize effective implementation of the new roles ( Chapman & Blash, 2016) . The authors use teamlet models to describe this collaboration. It has contributed to better health provision outcomes and quality healthcare in the clinics and other healthcare centres. The authors further focus on the need for improved training as a factor that medical assistants will require in order to excel in their new roles ( Chapman & Blash, 2016) . The gap realized in the provision of healthcare has contributed to the intensification of qualifications needed for the new roles of the medical assistant in primary care practices. The authors also dwell on case studies as methods applied in the realization of the purposes of medical assistants.

Medical assistants further act as health coaches, patient guides, community health care practitioners, care coordinators, and role interpreters. Such roles assist in the close monitoring of patients and nurses. Since nursing requires supervision and direction, as the authors assert, these roles by the medical assistants are vital for the implementation of the needed technologies in the healthcare centres. The communication skills and convincing abilities by medical assistants result in perfect interaction and application of ethics in the healthcare profession ( Chapman & Blash, 2016) . They also help in achieving the management goals by prompting cohesion among healthcare workers and patients. The introduction of technologies in the healthcare profession requires technological knowledge. Medical assistants must, therefore, understand the perfect usage of electronic health records to ascertain the adaptation to the new primary care roles. Patients prefer online access to their medical records and prescription. A medical assistant must be a super user of technology to train other healthcare workers on factors such as eHealth, online health information, and electronic health records usage.

The authors conclude by emphasizing on demography and technological transition as factors that determine the improved roles of medical assistants. Primary healthcare workers are reorganizing themselves by prioritizing medical assistants to deal with the influx of new and challenging patients in modern society. The innovative aspects in the contemporary communities have, therefore, led to changing roles of medical assistants. Every healthcare profession should adopt and adapt to the changes issued by medical assistants for the realization of quality healthcare delivery.
