Typical cyclones, commonly known as hurricanes, are low-pressure systems occurring in tropical or subtropical waters, where warm ocean waters generate hurricane energy. They occur in patterns of thunderstorm activities (NOAA, 2020). Hurricanes are categorized according to their speed variations, in the following order: 

Hurricanes- the maximum speed for this class of hurricanes could reach above 73 mph; 

Tropical storms- the maximum speed range between 39 mph and 73 mph;

Tropical depressions occur with a maximum speed that does not exceed 39 mph. 

The rotating wind speed forms the "eye of the hurricane," which is surrounded by the strongest winds; hence, the name "one-eyed monster." This central part of the hurricanes is characterized by perfect calmness. The formation of hurricanes depends on various environmental conditions: Temperature variations, drive in an unstable atmosphere and eventually lead atmospheric disturbance. Above 27 degrees Celsius of ocean water temperatures. Mid-level moist air atmosphere. Must be more than 200 miles away from the equator to enhance spinning. Wind variation influences different altitudes.

Hurricanes are known to have harmful consequences to economic and social settings, especially where the possibility of tornadoes is greatest. The one-eyed monster brings heavy rains, strong winds, and storm surges, causing flooding and landslides. Flooding restoration takes time and causes directly identifiable losses in trade and business. The social trauma developed from hurricane destruction inhibits people's drive for community development ( Greig et al., 2020 ). Additionally, flooding leads to food poisoning and deadly diseases like fever and the common cold. Moreover, drowning is common in oceans and flooded areas. Suctions created by low-pressure storm surges might travel inland, endangering elements of good infrastructure. Winds cause structural damage. 

Although speed has a unique contribution to the consequences of hurricanes, tropical depressions could cause equal or more harm to the hurricanes on the overall damage. The most important element to know is that every storm is different. Every tropical system can bring uniquely many life-threatening hazards. Therefore, knowing one's risk concerning the consequences of hurricanes and storms is critical, especially if you live in a storm evacuation zone. Regardless of your past survival experiences, every storm is different, and you never know how powerful a future hurricane might be.
