Today’s economic mainstream is based on the exemplary core of the neoclassical theory. This theory dominates economic research as well as education. The neoclassical perception affirms that the main economic challenge stems from scarce resource allocation (Boerger, 2016). In case, neoclassical economics assumes that all “agents” are inspired by their personal or utility welfare and that society only supports a policy choice with personal utilitarian value. In this case, efficiency entails the optimum utilization of accessible scarce resources with the aim of maximizing individual utility. In the classical economy, the central research domains include econometrics, macroeconomics as well as microeconomics. It is possible to express environmental values based on the pluralistic value model, especially when personal values conflict. I hold a pluralistic value related to professional forestry. My utilitarian ethic maximizes social welfare. In this case, the economic language is expressing welfare trade-offs as costs, and benefits as well as the scientific ability to describe and predict forests’ economic attributes. Some of my attributes include threats to profit, such as fire and pests, productivity, soil, and tree volume. I evaluate any decision concerning ground cover clearing in terms of sustained yield of timber, recreation, grazing, hunting, water as well as other forest products bound to affect social welfare. I believe in pluralism that the diversity of principles, as well as values relevant to moral judgment, cannot be based on utilitarian pain as well as pressure. I also believe that nature cannot have value independently of humans. The value of nature is dependent on instrumentality as well as human logic. In this case, my philosophy is grounded in pragmatism.
