Romanticism is a movement within literature and art that pays significant attention to primacy, inspiration, and subjectivity ( Honour, 2018). The video “Goya's Saturn Devouring His Children," shows that power is not given, but it is taken. It is because his children are trying to overthrow him, but he clings on the power to a point he even sacrifices his children to remain in power.
As far as the belief in individual elements of romanticism is concerned, it is suggestible that Goya Saturn was only concerned about himself alone. It is because he did not want anybody else to get power. He was dictatorial to the point that he was outdated and rigid to make flexible changes. It is evident from the art where his body is out of flesh, meaning that he is old enough to await death anytime. Also, his children believed in themselves to a point where they had to overthrow their father.

Further, considering the love element, it is possible to say that Goya Saturn was so much in love with power that he did not let it go that easily ( Furst, 2017). Whoever wanted a piece of what he had must have faced him. As a result of love, he had to devour out his children. On the other hand, love is worth dying for, and his children opted to die so that other people can live a better life. Also, it is crucial to note the interest of the past. According to the video, Goya Saturn was to be overthrown. Even if he did not want to acknowledge the prophecy, he remained in power to a point where he witnessed power overthrow from his children. While refusing to adhere to prophesy, he ended up devouring his kids.
