Information Technology (IT) plays a critical in driving a business's growth and success. This technology is primarily responsible for the designing, maintaining, and supporting an organization's technological infrastructure, thus allows the organization to leverage both technology and information in an efficient, productive and secure manner (Kasemsap, 2018). As a governmental organization, one of the critical business processes engaged in Service Delivery. The organization is more engaged in providing solutions to the general public, as such; its service processes have to be up to date, efficient, effective, and easy to access (Prout, 2018). As such, it is crucial that mechanisms are put in place to improve service delivery continually. Some of the ways to improve service delivery include emphasizing communication. There needs to be an effective means of communication between the government and the public; services need to be clearly defined to enable informed choices on the part of the general public, these services need to be as automated as possible to improve quality and efficiency.
Another way of improving service delivery would include tracking employee availability and efficiency and fostering a strong culture between the government and the American citizen (Peters, Korthaus, & Kohlborn, 2018). IT comes in handy in developing automated services, and facilitating the communication flow between the government and the public. Some of the factors to consider in adopting Information Technology in an organization include the organizational resources. Since these automated and highly technological mechanisms and processes may be costly to adopt, the level of an organization's resources influences the degree to which IT is adopted. The more an organization has enough resources for such processes, the more technological its operations are likely to be (Madon & Krishna, 2018). Organizations with more than enough resources have highly technologized and advanced systems of services, while organizations with fewer resources are more likely to have only the necessary technology, such as the possession of the typical office computers and printers.
