Theology and the Ecology

Environment 

Salazar's presentation takes the approach of investigating the relationship between theology and the ecology and the various instances where the Christian theory of creation talks about the humans’ environment. When viewing the presentation, one of the critical questions is, what is the role of human beings in the conservation of the environment? According to the theory of creation, God created various plants and animals for the benefit of man. By exploiting these creations, man can eat and make things such as clothes. However, the assertion that man should not love the world does not mean failure to protect the ecology. This presentation explains the metaphorical views of theology concerning the environment. Essentially, one of the causes of the destruction of the environment is global warming, which is partly caused by greed ( Salazar, 2020 ). Therefore, protecting the earth will need a political, economic, and social approach, which involves taking the cultural and religious approaches to learn the need for conservation. 

Gender and Family Structure 

This presentation discusses the role of gender in both modern and traditional perspectives. Fundamentally, the view of what role men and women should play socially and economically has changed with the setting in social changes where there are single-parent families and diversification of the genders, with some not seeing themselves as being either female or male. However, religious beliefs and literature seem to define the roles with the man appearing to be given responsibility as a leader. For instance, Adam was created first, and from him came eve showing that the man was meant to protect and lead (Castillon, 2020). Additionally, considering that Christian leadership even today favors male followers, it is important to ask is there a possibility of equality between the two genders? As far as religion is concerned, women should submit to their husbands. However, there is a controversy on whether any of the genders is superior to the other.
