Q1) Similar beliefs in Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.

The three religions are regarded as the Abrahamic religions based on their origins. The followers of the three religions believe that God made a covenant with Abraham. The covenant ensured that the believers had faith in God and that they would worship him for generations. In return, the believers had faith that God would protect Abraham's descendants (Boyd, 2019).

The three religions also believe that Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael. Isaac settled near Jerusalem, and his descendants became the Jews and Christians as Ishmael settled near Mecca and had the Muslims as the descendants.

Differences in Islam, Judaism, and Christianity

One difference is based on the major celebrations observed in the three religions. While Judaism and Islam follow the lunar calendar while Christians follow the Gregorian calendar. The main Jewish celebrations include Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah, and Purim. In Christianity, the main celebrations include Christmas, Easter, Advent, and Pentecost. Among Islam’s, the key celebrations include Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (Boyd, 2019). Another difference is the days that these religions observe fasting. In the three religions, fasting is related to the holy days that each religion observes. Also, there are differences in the way the three religions observe prayer. Each religion uses specific words during prayer, which is held at appointed times of the day. Besides, public prayer varies where it is performed on Saturday in Judaism, Sunday in Christianity, and Friday among Muslims.

Q2) The lifestyle changes I would need to make to ensure that I fit in a community that stopped to pray five times a day.

I would ensure that I carry the Quran everywhere I go since I would use it to perform prayers at different times of the day. I would also seek a quiet place to conduct the prayers throughout the day when in the public space. Besides, I would join my fellow Muslims in making the community prayers at specific times of the day.

Q3) My initial impressions and feelings about the architectural design of a Mosque.

I think the architectural design is based on ancient Islamic culture. When I look around, I do not find any other buildings with the same architectural technique. I believe that this is a unique architectural design that has been preserved for centuries to uphold the Islamic religious culture.

Q4) The religious message the architecture of the Mosque conveys about Islamic beliefs.

The architecture portrays the primary and secondary roles of the Mosque among Muslims. Primarily, the Muslims use the Mosque as their primary place of prayer and worship (Othman & Zainal-Abidin, 2011). Besides, the Mosque performs secondary functions such as educating followers, holding celebrations, and civic duties.
