IT outsourcing has been around for a while but its need has significantly grown recently. The limited nature of IT resources makes IT outsourcing significant especially for companies that produce or use technology. This paper explains how a company can benefit from IT outsourcing, concerns about outsourcing to other countries and how the concerns can be alleviated.
IT outsourcing is mainly developed from the need to maximize quality and efficiency while minimizing costs in organizations (Han & Mithas, 2013). Organizations can benefit from IT outsourcing through maintenance and management of the organization’s IT infrastructure by separate bodies or companies. According to Han and Mithas (2013), he gap in IT resources in companies that produce or use Internet Technology require IT outsourcing since IT manpower and resources are usually scarce to find. Han and Mithas (2013) further state that the increased trends in technology create the need for related companies to do more of coding, application developing, and programming which can be done by the aid of separate bodies and companies since the devices produced run on software.

Outsourcing to other countries can be challenging due to misinterpretations and lack of efficiency in communication. Moreover, lack of knowledge in relevant skills between the technicians can also make IT outsourcing to other countries hard (Han & Mithas, 2013). Han and Mithas (2013) point out that workplace environments and compliance standards often differs from one country to another hence making IT outsourcing challenging. To alleviate these concerns, involved technicians should enhance their communication skills to enable them understand each other while communicating (Han & Mithas, 2013). Additionally, the technicians should be conversant with relevant skills and compliance to make the process easier and convenient.
In sum, IT outsourcing involves the use of separate bodies to manage and maintain the general IT infrastructure in companies that use or produce technology in the IT world. Nonetheless, IT outsourcing can be challenging especially if it is being done to other countries. This challenge is mainly due to communication issues and lack of knowledge in relevant skills.
