Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I trust everyone is well today. Thank you for attending today’s meeting, where I will be highlighting the measures I intend for Uber to undertake during and post the Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. My name is (your name), and I am honored to be Uber’s new chief executive officer appointed to run the company over the next five years. I hope that my vision, mission, and objectives in collaboration with your job involvement, engagement, and self-motivation will help Uber to recover from the loss it has experienced since the onset of COVID-19 to date. I look forward to educating you on the marketing strategies I have instituted to aid the organization to surpass its revenue target for the fiscal year 2021/2022. I will also update you on the key 5 professionals I feel should be added to Uber’s management team, and share my plan for the first 90 days I will be in office.
Today, COVID-19 has become a “landscape crisis”; an unanticipated event of overwhelming speed and enormous scale, generating a high level of uncertainty that engenders disorientation, excessive emotional disturbance, and loss of control feelings. Nevertheless, as a leader, I intend to prove that I am the best fit to revive the company’s operations, even with the increased demand from corporations that employees work from home, the social distancing government mandate that has increasingly encouraged people to stay at home as protective measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, and the temporary and permanent of company closures experienced throughout the country. We all understand that during this crisis, the food, pharmaceutical, and medical industries thrive the most. Therefore, I aspire to collaborate with Pfizer, Johnson& Johnson, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, Roche, and Abbvie for Uber to transport their employees to and from work, and on official duties. I will also push for the company to form partnerships with grocery stores such as Whole Foods Market, Publix, and Trader Joes to deliver their products to stay at home clients at a subsidized rate. I am aware that most employees at Uber fear they will be a massive lay-off, but I hope that the new partnerships mentioned above will help the company sustain its current employee base effectively.

Throughout my leadership, I intend for Uber to be the most ideal employer, offering workers growth opportunities, upholding a culture of respect for everyone, and promoting value for every employee opinion. I will ensure that workers are not overworked, fair pay is sustained, and honest and open communication is practiced across all employee categories. My key deliverables will be intensive customer focus and engagement, embracing of technologies such as the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, development and implementation of a robust business plan, efficient cash management, and the execution of an effective marketing strategy within the next five years. I will also hire a marketing manager to help in the selling and promotion of Uber’s products, and operations’ executive to oversee the company’s overall finances, and a new information technology manager to captain Uber’s technological demands. I also intend to hire a talents’ officer, whose role will be to aid in the career growth of hired employees, who can effectively handle more demanding duties whenever promoted to higher positions. Moreover, I will create an internal crisis response team that will make and execute decisions in the event that a manager is adversely affected by the Corona Virus 2019 and is unable to effectively perform their duties.
During the first 90 days of my employment as a CEO, I will ensure to listen and learn more from my fellow managers, as well as establish departmental alliances for the company to achieve its objectives quicker. I will educate myself on how to best deliver my assigned roles and responsibilities, and to assess how my strengths can be integrated into my new role. I will also intensively familiarize myself with the organization’s culture, to identify critical elements such as how workers engage with each other on and off their work premises and actual employee working hours. I will also ensure that all workers’ roles are rightfully matched with their skills to ensure timely attainment of my set vision and mission for Uber. I intend to assess the employee hiring and retaining processes that Uber currently has, to identify any weaknesses that we can remedy. I will also organize training sessions for workers concerning the new duties I had highlighted before, to ensure that drivers are well-educated on how to handle medical personnel who bear the largest responsibility for the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, I hope that by the end of the three months, Uber will at least celebrate its first small win projected through a rise in income compared to the last 11 months. Finally, I intend that between January and April 2021, the company’s marketing department will run an intensive campaign to help in reviving Uber’s revenue income. The organization will run ads in print, broadcast, and online media platforms, besides engaging more in corporate social responsibility. Additionally, Uber will identify a celebrity and politician to aid in influencer marketing on social media, besides giving clients 25% discount for every new registration for the first five rides, free ride for every client introduced by a friend, and 50% discount for two weeks for customers who have used our service for more than ten years, as demonstrated in figure 1 below.

I believe that with the goals highlighted above, Uber will successfully rise from the current saddening situation, where drivers are displaying despair because of the reduction in clients. I also hope to enjoy everyone’s collaboration through evident commitment, support, and respect for our jobs, colleagues, and customers.
