In the article titled “ The Impact of Organizational Culture on Organizational Performance: A Case Study of Telecom Sector ,” Mashal Ahmed and Saima Shafiq studied the effect of organizational culture on the performance of individual organizations. The article evaluates telecom companies’ franchises in Bahawalpur on different Hofstede cultural dimension and relates the company ratings and indexes on these dimensions on their overall organizational performance. The Hofstede’s cultural dimensions that this article evaluates include power distance, masculinity/feminism, individualism versus collectivism; long-term orientation versus short-term orientation and uncertainty avoidance (Ahmed & Shafiq, 2014). The major contribution that this peer-reviewed research article makes is to the overall concept of Hofstede cultural dimension is to determine the effect of these cultural dimensions on overall organizational performance from a business perspective. Therefore, this article evaluates the effect of these cultural dimensions on individual behavior in a business organization’s setting and evaluates such behavior concerning the organization’s overall performance.
The research presented in this paper provides a practical approach to evaluating the impact of Hofstede cultural dimension. The study draws a correlation between the Hofstede cultural dimensions and the performance of the sampled organizations. The findings of this study indicate that organizations with higher uncertainty avoidance and power differences indicate high performance about organizations with low uncertainty avoidance and unclear structures of power. Moreover, organizations that embrace collectivism are more productive and perform highly compared to organizations that with a culture of individualism (Ahmed & Shafiq, 2014).

This study is important in helping business organizations to shape their cultures in a way that helps them to be more productive and hence enhance performance. It defines the specific aspects of the organization’s culture that the organizations must nurture to create an overall organizational culture that will help the organization to enhance performance.
