The US is very well prepared to counteract to a WMD attack based on the experience that they have gotten from the 9/11 attacks. Through the attacks, the US became aware of the limitations and consequently adjusted in their efforts to seal any loopholes regarding WMD attacks. Several agencies came up after the 9/11 attacks. The DoD formed the CBRN Response Enterprise (CRE), a phrase that was used majorly to label WMD response potentials. Clinton also formed PDD – 39 as the president of the US during that time, which was a US policy that would prevent any terrorist attempts (Farrell, 2019). Every state in the US has Army National Guard’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams (WMD-CSTs), which contains twenty-two people in each division. This unit is capable of reacting to a disaster or an attack within a period of three hours. Therefore, the United States is prepared to provide response measures that can recognize and eliminate or counter any threats within their borders effectively.
The United States have enough capability to respond to any attack effectively based on the aspects already discussed. The presence of WMD – CSTs in every state makes the region resourceful to deal with any threat or attack. Besides being able to respond quickly to a CBRN tragedy, the team can recognize threatening materials and implement measures to deal with the situation (Goralnick, Van Trimpont, & Carli, 2017) . They have a short response time to recognize and analyze a threat. Their capability is also realized in the way they can communicate quickly to their commander on how to deal with an attack.

The response plan and command and control structure is clearly understandable. The response plan to a tragedy is that the preparedness measures correspond to disaster response activities carried out at various units, from the teams, to organizations, regions and intergovernmental frameworks within the nation. Every agency and response activities are carried out with every respective group to counter an attack effectively (Farrell, 2019). Therefore, everyone has a role to eliminate any redundancies that may come up because the team is not guided. Even households are given roles so that they prepare themselves for any looming threats. There is much coordination among the local, state, and federal governmental agencies, along with privately controlled media, who have their functions so that there is no confusion.
