The Vietnamese independence in the year 1945 as proclaimed by the nationalist leader Ho Chi Minh is considered the most inspiring and well-demonstrated independence speech. The country had been colonized by two foreigners the French and later the Japanese who discriminated the people from their own economic, political and social freedom. Many citizens and allies of the country died in the fight for independence (Ho Chi Minh, 1962). The proclamation speech has sections and important subjects that illustrated the ideal nature of how Vietnam had fought spiritedly to gain own economic and political freedom from the former colonialists and the amount of sacrifice and self-determination that ensured the country was now a free-state.
In the speech, Ho Chi Minh’s speech had mentioned about the country demanding the freedom of independence as part of the payment for services rendered during the World War II. I believe the services are the people’s assistance to the French in fighting the Japanese conqueror during the invasion of the country before the independence. As mentioned, Vietnam was first conquered by the French, who according to the leader, suppressed the people by incurring inhuman laws and divided the country politically (Ho Chi Minh, 1962). However, the people were more profound to assist the French during the invention of the Japanese sine there were more suffering and deaths associated with the Japanese invasion. The French fled and later surrendered the colony to the Empire of Japan. In the speech, the leader mentions that the Vietminh League wanted to ally to help the French retake the nation from the Japanese but were massacred political prisoners before fleeing. Despite the unnecessary crimes against the local citizens, the Vietminh League were always tolerant towards the French with good humane attitude, helped the Frenchmen to cross the borders, help most French prisoners to escape from the Japanese prisons and protected the properties of the French during the colonization of the Japan Empire.

The philosophical principles that were always used by nationalists like Ho and were part of the fight for independence are the principles of Self-determination and Equality. Ho believed that these were paramount to allow the independence of the nation is owing to the French colonial crimes against the citizens of the country. His speech begins with the pronouncement statements about equality of people and states in the excerpt of the Declaration of Independence of the United States in 1776 and the French Revolution. The declaration of independence mentions that all the people on earth are equal from birth and have the right to live, be happy and be free. He statement from the French Revolution also confirmed about the rights of citizens and man to be born free and with equal rights which should be equal throughout the nation. Ho is known to use the declaration to spearhead for freedom fighting from colonist with the involvement of patriotic citizens and political leaders (Ho Chi Minh, 1962). The principle of self-determination was well discussed when the nation’s allies in Tehran and San Francisco advocated and acknowledged for the independence owing to the determination of the citizen in protecting their dignity and freedom from the yokes of colonialism by the French and Japan. The philosophy o self-determination was further built by the people to reunite and courageously opposed the French dominance for close to a decade and fighting along with allies to fight the Japanese was part of the self-determination of the people to have own free and independent nation.
Vietnam had undergone the negativity of colonialism through crimes. The French had first colonized the country before the invasion by the Japanese Empire. In regards to the crimes that were against the need for equality and rights of the citizens, I believe the most severe crimes that justified the independence of the nation is the political discrimination and the act of obscurantism which was used to divide the country from realigning itself to defend and fight for freedom. Division of the Nation into three distinctive regimes was aimed to deprive the citizens of the knowledge and unification that was required to suppress the French and Japanese (Ho Chi Minh, 1962). The political oppression was in part the reason why most uprisings rose due to the call for unification of the citizen's against the oppression by the French. Obscurantism was deliberately depriving the knowledge of the people, making them vulnerable to discrimination and abuses both socially and economically. Citizens did not have the knowledge to have a common self-determination to end the suppression of their freedom. This political crime was the justification of the country to reunite against the French and the Japanese to gain their liberty and independence.
