Psychology identifies visualization and language as the two major ways in which the mind manages and processes information. The verbal imagery involves the thinking that is more linear, conceptual, and factual. The words are sequenced into sentences that are then used to communicate meaning. This is mainly the mental image representing word as it has been heard, felt, or seen ( Amit et al., 2017 ). Verbal imagery occurs when words create pictures in the mind of an individual. Upon hearing certain words, people form certain images in their minds, which, through the mental process, create a meaning. The verbal imagery, however, requires some degree of high conscious control to interpret the meaning of works. The reason for language development is to communicate with others. The verbal system is, therefore, more on the factual demands and reality of the world. It plays a vital role in communication as people tend to interpret words through the mental process.

The visual imagery, on the other hand, entails the construction of mental images when one is learning new information. Visualizing the information can make a simple way to remember the information by connecting it to the mental images as well as senses ( Villena-González, López & Rodríguez, 2016 ). The painting of the mental picture is the other way to visualize the imagery. It entails creating a picture in mind to interpret things as they are. It enhances a visual image of what can be done when you recall the vision-related experience from the long term memory. One can reflect and manipulate the visual images through mental processes. The visual appeals can be used in intuitive appeals, especially in reasoning in reasoning and problem-solving when the issues are not present in a visual environment. Having a picture in mind could is derived from developing memory for things seen previously.

Recent studies have shown that verbal cues are used more often than visual images. Verbal imagery entails a wide range of factual and realities that can help in the interpretation of issues. A study has shown that people tend to have shorter periods of visual imagery but longer periods of verbal imagery ( Palmiero et al., 2015 ). During a period of worries and depression, verbal imagery is favored to visual imagery, a move that makes the latter more important in everyday life. Similar research has also shown that verbal imagery is important in positive thinking and problem-solving than visual imagery. Verbal imagery is important mainly because it leads to factual thinking and realities of the issues, which is important in making critical decisions. While visual imagery is also useful in critical thinking, research has shown that verbal imagery is widely used. It is important to create critical thinking based on realities. The verbal imagery presents situations in which the mental process involves what is heard or seen. This is a more practical way to enhance mental processes and reason based on facts and realities compared to visual imagery. At the same time, inner speech is more common for verbal than visual imagery.
