Following recent transformations in the climate, people have started asking, "Is global warming a real threat to planet Earth?" Global warming refers to the long lasting increase in the average temperature of Earth's climate system (TRS, 2019). This particular aspect is indicated by temperature measurements and numerous effects of the warming. Different observed transformations since mid-20th Century have been unmatched compared to available reports, some of which date back thousands of years. Global warming is a long-term increase in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system, a fact that one day will lead to the disappearance of the Earth. Worldwide , many individuals consider global warming a serious issue mainly caused by humans, and whose effects are long term. Global warming is caused by three important factors that are the emission of greenhouse gases, deforestation and the use of fertilizers in the field.
One of the main causes of global warming is emission of greenhouse gases. When people burn carbon-bases materials, carbon dioxide is usually released (TRS, 2019). This then goes to the atmosphere and is also trapped in ice. One major effect associated with emission of greenhouse gases is thawing of poles. A second effect is extreme weather occurrences such as droughts and flooding while the third is disappearance of animal species

Another cause of global warming is deforestation. In today's world, people are cutting trees for construction and burning of charcoal. As a result, the land is left bare and unable to produce rain. An effect of deforestation is death of plant and animal species. Secondly, it tends to i ncrease CO2 in the atmosphere, favoring the deterioration of the ozone layer. Thirdly, increase in respiratory and cardiac diseases is also observed as an effect of deforestation.
A cause of global warming is use of fertilizer in the field. As people embrace technology, they look for new ways of farming as well as new farming products, including fertilizers. This then leads to excessive use and ruining of natural soil for plants (TRS, 2019). An effect of using fertilize is loss of crops. Secondly, food shortages occur especially in developing countries. Thirdly, use of fertilizer leads to underground water pollution.
In conclusion, global warming is a worldwide challenge that knows no borders. To combat it, people need coordinated effort across the globe. The causes and effects of global warming are too sure to ignore.
