The part which I enjoyed most while developing my original research proposal was the literature review. Conducting the literature review gave me a chance to learn more about the previous research and developments on my research topic and research field ( Vom Brocke et al., 2009). Also, it gave me great insights into the way to conduct my research, based on the previous research, and guided me in developing the research questions and hypotheses. Moreover, the literature review helped me in understanding my research question in depth, by revealing the gaps which exist in the literature and identifying areas of previous research, which would help in preventing duplication of effort ( Rowley & Slack, 2004) . Lastly, I enjoyed conducting literature review because it enabled me to locate my own research within the existing literature context, which I believe is very crucial for my proposed research.
What was the most challenging aspect?
There were also challenges in encountered in developing my research proposal. The most challenging element was developing the research proposal itself. The research proposal has to be a brief and condensed document. I had to put a lot of effort and also took so much time editing to summarize it enough to present it as a research proposal.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Do you plan to follow-through with this study? Why or why not?
Since I have developed my research proposal, I do plan to follow through with it in my research because I think there is scope for me to collect data and test my hypotheses to get valuable research results and get answer to my research question. I believe that it would be an excellent learning experience for me and it will help me gain vast knowledge in my research field.
Feel free to share any other thoughts relating to your study's future.
I think that I would want to have some guidance from my professor on how I should approach my research, whether I should make it qualitative or quantitative, as well as the research design which I should use. Besides, I think that the research topic is a good one, and it would have great implications to the society regarding parenting and the problem of drug abuse, which is highly prevalent in the society today.
