Intellectual capital is an intangible value driver in any organization. It can affect organizations in many ways. For instance, it contributes to economic success and an essential resource in creating value in an organization. As a result, it brings future benefits to the organization. In the modern market, the business environment is becoming more dynamic and hence the need for businesses to be willing to adapt to changes to survive. Organizations manage to remain competitive in the market and quickly adapt to these changes through intellectual capital. Due to innovation, intellectual capital has increasingly become the source of competitive advantage for business firms. 

Intellectual property includes relational capital, structural capital, and human capital. In K-12 educator, human capital is recognized by looking into the teachers' and workers' creativity and skills. This has increased in value since K-12 educator invests in the training programs for the workers. If the workers are efficient, they are more likely to improve the students' performance and hence the organization. The organization's performance depends largely on the quality of service that they produce and in the performance of its employees. In K-12 educator, the services' product is the future of the communities, the success of the children, and the social and economic well-being of the country as a whole.

K-12 educator recognizes that their most significant resource is their people. Therefore, more than 80% of their budget is focused on the benefits of accounting and staff salaries. To further include the effectiveness and quality of the education workforce in the organization, the organization is continuously working on increasing accountability for students' performance. Besides, it accounts for works with other similar organizations such as The New Teacher Project and Teaches for America that nurtures and attract new resources. Moreover, the organization has increased the management and development of human capital by increasing the qualifications of those entering into principalship and the system.
