Organizational development itself is a philosophy that aims at harnessing the aims and objectives of the organization. Values are fundamental in conducting organizational development. Such is because they ensure the actions are aligned with the purposes of the organization. Some of the values that are a part of the corporate development philosophy include democratic, optimistic, and humanistic. Humanistic values focus on the importance ad contribution of each individual to the development of the organizations. The main focus of the matter is to respect everyone and treat others with the dignity that they deserve. Also, there is an assumption that every individual is intrinsic worth and can contribute to the organization's growth. The democratic values, as indicated by the philosophy, focus on the sanctity of each member. All the people in organizational development are not to be victims of the misuse of power, and there should be fairness and equitability in the allocation of resources. More so, there is a need for justice to be served through the rule of law. The optimistic values suggest that everyone is generally good, and that progress in development is possible. The article positively influenced my understanding of the organizational development topic. Organizational development is all about the contribution of various stakeholders in achieving the set goals and objectives. The stakeholders and people in the company create a tribe that is responsible for organizational development (Bushe, 2017). Each of the members of the tribe has a role in paying. Their functions are attached to the philosophical values of organizational development. Initially, I thought that organizational development is executive management's role as they take part in the decision-making process. However, the article has made me a new understanding that even the employees at the grass-root level have a role to play in the development since they have values. The practices that take part in an organization are connected with the members' behavioral science (Bushe, 2017). For the achievement of development, philosophical values insist on collaboration. Therefore, my new understanding of organizational development is the existence of distinct roles that will form a much more vital task force for efficiency and effectiveness at operation levels. It is through organizational development that it is possible to manage change in an organization. The content of the article will assist in creating change in the class project groups. The discussion groups in class is a small organization on their own as it has all the stakeholders needed to make it complete. Some groups have leaders and other participants that form the organization. Being a leader of one of the class project groups means I will need organizational development's philosophical values to create change. For instance, the class projects bring students together, and the project's level of success largely depends on the collaboration between the members. The first aspect to emphasize will be respect for each of the group members working together. Then there will be the allocation of tasks and responsibilities since everyone has a role to play. There will also be a platform for opinion-raising to be a part of the decision-making process. The practice will ensure justice for all the members following the rule of law as their opinion matters.
