Food stamps are of utmost significance to the less privileged members of the society. Several persons and households survive on food stamps to take care of their basic family needs, for instance, paying for the cost of food. I know of 10 people who live alone and 20 families who receive food stamps. Further, I am well aware of 30 individuals who cohabit and routinely purchase and organize meals as a unit.

Public welfare remains one of the ancient social concepts and at the same moment, the most elusive. When I was growing up, it was made to believe that public welfare was a program to help the less fortunate people. Public welfare was crucial and taught me more about compassion and how to be compassionate to people. Fundamentally, it was more about providing and purchasing food through food stamps. Public welfare entailed much of government assistance and subsidized public housing for a better living within families. There is a slight improvement in my view about public welfare. I have stamped my perspective towards welfare and developed the tenets of family compassion and empathy. It profoundly taught the importance of empathizing with people and in extending a helping hand in different situations. Currently, I considerably understand that the public aid we received was as a result of taxes that the state gets and apportions it to assist the less fortunate (Norris, 2016).

The current welfare system requires some level of reform. The improvements in the system should bring about a stop to some degree of waste that is experienced in some of the state organs in charge of welfare. Significant development should be made in having a framework of promptly collecting taxes so that there is enough to cater the less fortunate members of the society (Norris, 2016).
