In my view, quality refers to a situation when a product or service provided by an individual or an institution meets specific standard requirements, both in their appearance and functionality. These products or services have to be able to satisfy comfortably the need of which they were produced. This means the consumers' expectations have to be met for the product or service to be considered of good quality. For instance, I would say my learning institution offers quality services regarding education because it provides a tailored learning experience that is up to speed with the current trends in the market. The tutors are seasoned and very much familiar with the demands of the workforce and tend to provide lessons that answer to some of the challenges posed in the market while putting into consideration the technological development in the respective fields. The practical lessons and field studies are updated to expose learners to the facts on the ground.
This definition of quality is in line with the Baldrige principle of delivering value and results. According to this principle, quality is when a product or service can meet certain expectations. That is what results are about; a phenomenon's performance against its set grading scale. Value is when a product or service can satisfy the demand for which it was designed, the degree, in this case, is not typically set, but there is the general need to satisfy a given need or want. Needless to say, for a person to meet these standards, whether established or expected, they must be in the right state to deliver. Not just physically with the right tools and personnel, but they must adopt a quality attitude in which they focus their minds first on quality production before impacting and encouraging the different personnel involved to strive towards the perfection of their output.
